War Zones?

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 11:56 pm

When I played Fallout 3 I was always expecting a much bigger battle between the BoS and the Enclave, not just a robot that would completely dominate everything, and a little to none firefight. I mean, if you ever went to the capital, the battle between the Merc's of Talon Company and the Super Mutants was what seemed like an actual war zone to me. I actually got stuck in a crossfire and had to stealth boy my way out of there.

Sense there are all these new factions coming in, I am expecting a war between the factions atleast once, like at least a 20 on 20 battle. Then again that's just me, trying to feed my hungering ache for killing everything there, and feeling the awesomeness of every single explosion out of nowhere come and rain down from above.

Thoughts?

Sounds good.... I'd like to see that, although not more often than a few scripted events, or manipulated quest conclusions, certainly not randomly.

I'd like to see more battles like the one in the White House
although 20 vs 20 sounds a little high

I suspect War Zones wouldn't be much more than 7 on 7 affairs. Perhaps they could have those groups of seven respawn indefinitely until some objective is accomplished though...like the end of O:A

Ya, you know, more like a California ranger rounding up a small strike group to take out a local camp of raiders I suppose, but the battle ends up being bigger than expected.

You mean the Capitol Building?

On topic: I would like to see random mini-firefights between roaming faction patrols, nothing scripted but nothing large either....unless its a conclusion to an important quest :D

I did enjoy the massive firefight between the Washington Monument, and the Capitol Building. Especially at a low level, walking in that for the first time was crazzzyyy, i spent most of my ammo and my stinpaks, but it was a grand time.

Remember though, the engine cant handle to much of that.............hopefully Fallout 4's engine will be able too....off topic.

More battles sounds good. You know the NCR and Caesar's Legion are gonna have some pretty epic firefights.

In the game play they show us there is an NCR team trying to take out a Ceaser's Legion base. Would be better if that base had heavy weapons or ligh machine guns defending it. Just seemed like more of the same, people with hunting rifles and knives :glare:

I think it would be fun, if they had just random fighting. Like it's already been said by Greatest Alive, I think some roaming patrols stumbling upon each other would be cool. And it would add to the realism of the war between NCR and Ceasar's Legion, and the other factions in NV. Plus, they wouldn't have to start at 20v20, but they could have it that some radio operator or messenger gets new reinforcements to help in the fight? That would add something new and cool I think.
