Warning: Post Processing Injector won't go away

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 9:37 pm

I recently installed to try out a post processing injector. I installed preset 2. I didn't like it so I quit Skyrim and uninstalled the post process injector. Went back in to the game and everything was still oversaturated. I restarted my PC, made sure no files from the injector still existed in my Skyrim folder and tried deleting my Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini to no avail. It appears my game has become permanently oversaturated.

Should be able to disable the post processing (if it's the FXAA Post process injector http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=131) by simply pressing the pause key on your keyboard.

Not sure that this is true. But here is an idea to test:

Reinstall FXAA Post Processing Injector. Toggle "pause" to turn it off. Save in this state. Delete files, including the .dll. If it is now part of your save, I would imagine that it would be saved in the turned off state. YMMV.

Thanks... except the mod is uninstalled and pause doesn't do anything.

The problem is now when I re-install it, it does it double the amount. So when I hit pause to disable it it just does it once instead of twice. Somehow in saving my game or uninstalling it with it enabled it won't go away. Also, the affect is quite apparent at the main menu before I even load my game. I confirmed this by loading Skyrim on a computer right next to my gaming rig (because the Skyrim logo looked a lot more saturated than I expected it to look) and sure enough it is definitely oversaturated.

Is it possible to revert to a pre-Post Processing Injector save?

Probably only by uninstalling the game and mod files, and then doing a clean instal.

I will try.

I am sure there is something wrong. If I go to my desktop and turn my Nvidia settings' saturation down about 20% my Skyrim is back to normal, but everything else outside of the game is almost black & white, lol

Odd, I'm pretty sure the post processing (being post processing) isn't saved with a save game file. In fact, display settings in general aren't saved with the save game. This is a head scratcher.

I just did a quick test. I removed the .dll and the Post Processing Injector effect was gone. Completely vanilla. Not sure what is going on with your game. So. I don't think the issue is the Post Processing Injector. Did you post your specs?

theres an uninstaller that comes with it (if you're using the popular FXAA ppi) should be in the main skyrim directory where the TESV.exe is

It uninstalled for me just fine once before. There was a new version, so I tried it again. Still didn't like it.

Tried that. Thanks.

Finished re-installing the entire game with no mods. Let's see what happens.
