Warzones mod - civil unrest

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 1:21 pm

Anyone use this mod?
I play on highest difficulty and this mod has made me reload more than anything else.
I am wondering if there are too many warzones that are lopsided though.
Travelling to Throat, from the Riften side, and you run into scores of high end badies(dread lords or whatever they are), not so bad, expect they converge at the same place the dragon patrols(ancient in my game).
Next, west of Riften there will be a bandit/storm cloak war. Except everytime the bandits easily as there are so many, the only way i can get by is "storm call" but they repop very fast.
Not my mod, just a fan.

If anyone complains of a game being too easy, plug this one in.

I started using this mod yesterday and the ONLY complaint I have is the battlefield near Whiterun.

Whiterun is meant to be neutral, however, the Stormcloaks outnumber the Imperials massively! Every time I've turned up its been an absolute slaughter!

I also play on the highest difficulty, this does kind of add to it, but I've only run across this battle and ones with bandits so far, so haven't really had to reload at all.

You should try this in combination with the Wars in Skyrim mod, standing not far away from Whiterun is Nature's Doom. Carnage lmfao!

This mod definitely adds to the difficulty of the game, especially if you accidently hit the wrong person and end up having everyone after you. Highly recommend using Wars in Skyrim Dark age mode as well with it. Like ProjectVRD says, it leads to some fantastic scenes of utter carnage. Hell throw in the Adventurers and Travellers mod in and Deadly Dragons and you can have the BEST times just running randomly through the wilderness.

Army of Stormcloaks v Army of Bandits v group of Giants v 5-10 epic Adventurers v 1 extra powerful Dragon v You. Good times indeed

Balgruuf is primarily neutral; I've never heard him claim an outright allegiance, but he just dislikes Ulfric personally.

On the same note, due to his neutrality, he hasn't seceeded from the Empire. Therefor, the Legions will be there to defend him.

Oh yeah, great mod. Makes the civil war very real and makes you not the center of the universe (OOO style). I have seen 3 battlefields and usually help against bandits only, in areas where the bandits are a bit isolated from the groups. The loot you get from the dead bodies may unbalance the game for some, but for me it is spoils of war. Luckily no super gear, just armor, not any better than what I already have. For realism, I think this adds to it. My companion has seemed to work fine with this so far.

tried it at one point, but i had open cities installed as well, and was having a lot of FPS problems, so i got rid of both. definitely worth looking into again after 1.5 hits and has full support from the 3rd parties.

Warzones is definitely something that should have been included in Vanilla. Too bad it's not very stable when you have ugridstoload = 7. I have a fairly beefy PC and suffered lots of CTDs with this mod even with a minimal number of scripted mods and no graphics injectors.

I would use it, but it makes my game crash whenever I go near a warzone. Plus, with all the mods I use already, I can barely stay alive without worrying about combat as well.

A brilliant mod, but i also find fault with the lopsided numbers. I'm sure that it will be balanced out at some point.

Just a tip to make your game possibly more stable...

Install the mods with NMM and use BOSS to re-arrange the load orders. At this moment the two are not integrated so manual arrangement in NMM is required after going through the BOSS report. I have uGrids set to 11... yup... eleven. I think one of the mods I downloaded did that. I don't get any CTD's anymore because the load orders are correct.

I was under the impression that the number of soldiers on each side was slightly randomized in order to make things more interesting.

In the early levels bandits might always win because it's possible for high level bandits to spawn, while the imperials/stormcloaks are alot more static.

A level 24 Bandit Marauder with 600 health is gonna take down alot of level 5 soldiers.

Later on though the soldiers become alot stronger as I believe they level with you to around 50 (where bandits stop at around 25 I think)

My personal preference is for http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12479. I feel it does some of the same things as Warzones but in a more tasteful way.

I use Warzones, Deadly Dragons and Occupy Skyrim. I am also going to use Wars in Skyrim (waiting for the english translation of v 4.4) and I shall definitely try Adventurers and Travelers as well. I reckon these mods fit what is happening in Skyrim currently, so much chaos, so much blood and iron/steel. These are dark times in Skyrim, be prepared.

I really like this mod. Only problem for me is how easy it is to accidentally set the wrong person on fire when playing as a mage, and then have everyone coming after you.

My tip for Warzones is to stay out of the combat, except when a small group gets isolated. Also, if you hang back a bit and the bandits (or foresworn) see you, they will come after you. Also, if playing at master level, run away. Warzones creates mobs that will kill you in no time. I use WiS and Warzones only, works very well, especially when you see 40+ characters battling.

Only problem I have with Warzones is that cloak spells affect everyone, even allies and Imperials don't attack me on sight, even though I'm a Stormcloak. Other than that, it's pretty fun.

I haven't tried, but am going to try it. It looks awesome. I already use PISE and am going to download Deadly Combat. I am wondering if i use Warzone with those two mods, will that be a bit much?

Using warzones, DD, and WiS....man its really crankign the difficulty up there. My god my lvl 21 "shammy" i guess i really cnat think of what genre he is man i literally spent all mornign on 1 encounter up near riften. coming out of my dragonfalls manor, i go up there at the lake and see a dragon. I proceed to track it and get ambushed by 2 DB assassins and the dragon atks..i literally had to kite the dragon over to the special guards to help me, and once the guards started dying out then i had to kite the dragon over to the bandit camp that literally omg i believe there was over a 100 bandits around fighting and pwning well its all fine and dandy to agro the bandits then have the dragons woop down and start roasting the area and just kite the bandits into the dragosn flames while tryign to dodge the flames myslef and stay alive. Then said bandits would start on dragon until he took off and then all agro on me, im doing that fus ra dah all over the place so i can get soem atks in and heals in, kiting them all over the place to finally get the dragon to die and have to run around the dragon and not get boxed in to get the soul. the io take off running and swim to other side of the lake...over right? nah, got about 15 bandits trailing me and swimming after me, so i start takign out the ones that are still swimming and get soem stendar warriors in the mix to help out but 2 of them and 1 of me against 15 bandits...well they went down but they fought bravely and i believe we took out 3. So at one point i tried to just kite thme back and forth on sides of lakes but dammit if soem of them realize they had fireball spells and bows, so quite a few times got sniped down from other side of lake while trying to swim, but instead just kiting and doing guerilla tactics on them until i wittled the numbers down until a grp of riften guarsd came over and it was even odds, but i used the distraction as a break and came back in and we took down the remaining bandits and still had 1 guard surviving. whew!!!!!! Well very close to riften so just strolling and catching my breath, and i can see the gates off to the distance when all of a sudden i hear a woman scream! My trusty whatever class turns around to help save the damsel in distress i turn and see a woman gettign atked by a dragon priest......a [censored]ign dragon priest! I yell at the lady "you shouldnt have pissed him off then!" and turned around and made a beeline to riften to the bee and barb inn to throw back some cool blackbriar mead. Does that lady ever invade my thoughts? Should i have done soemthign for her? Maybe tried to save her?...then my mind goes back to what i instinctly shouted at her..and i feel i was right, she shouldnt have pissed him off and after that i have no problems sleeping soundly.
