So I was cleaning up piles of old things...

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:33 am

...and I found this old school project of mine from god knows when. It was a picture storybook full of stick figures and crayon outside of the lines. Really old stuff. There's no date on it, which is sad. Anyway, the story goes like this, verbatem, spelling as it is in the book:

My Pets

I playde with him. Me and my pets. Wen I am at my bad. Ween he went simin in the bathroom. He ate bons. He a was had fun. Ween he was sad I was there. We glim trees. We. He is a happy bag. He walks out sid. Me and my frande.

It does look like the project was "Draw a picture about a pet, and label it." So maybe that's why the story makes no sense whatsoever.

How about you? Find anything neat lately?

Yup. Found an HDMI cable while looking for an extra pair of headphones for my laptop. Yay me.

I also found some good binoculars while searching for a flashlight when my power went out a week ago.

Last time I cleaned I found a binder full of short illustrated "books" I made when I was in elementary school. Well I called them books at the time, but they're only like 6 pages each (with one sentence per page), and there were around ten books in the series.

The odd thing is... my handwriting hasn't really changed much after 15 years.

Cracked up at 'he is a happy bag'

I loved my dog to death when I was a kid too. Sarge sure was a happy bag.

It freaks me out to realize that some people really were happier as children.

I found my old Yu-Gi-Oh deck last week and I've been playing between classes with a couple of friends.

Go ahead and laugh, but it's a fun TCG. Also great for nerdy college students who have nothing else to do between classes. :P

Me too. For some reason that tv show was just awesome to me and the cards were actually like the show (unlike pokemon) which most likely increased me liking it. I could actually do what they were doing (for the most part).

I still have my Yu-Gi-Oh cards too. I miss the old show before they got rid of Yugi.

Also have some illustrated "books" like another poster said. I'm not much of an artist, but I've most certainly improved since then. :ermm:

The S has a strike through it. It was scribbled out on the notecards. So, yeah, I made the same mistake twice and then just scribbled it out.

Hah, I have the Joey/Jonouchi (his original/manga name) one. It's banged all to hell thanks to me carrying it around in my backpack as a kid, but I've still got it. :)

I have always been far too organized to stumble into pieces of my past without expecting to find them where I looked. However by "always" I really just mean since I can remember myself. Stumbled into my birth records not long ago that my mom had tucked away in some random drawer, a pretty weird place to keep something like that.

Had a little read about how much I weighed and the time of my birth and such and I found it pretty neat.

I remember this one time in middle school where this "typical black kid" (If you an American in school, you probally know what I mean) brought his Yu-Gi-Oh cards to school and played with some of the "geeky white kids" and he proudly declared to anyone who questioned that he loved Yu-Gu-Oh no matter what anyone said about it. I thought that was pretty awesome.

I used to love writing jokes back in elementary school, problem was I tended to be a bit insulting about some of them.

apparently I wrote this one in repsonse to a crush I had at the time
"of all the fish in the sea I had to pick the one that couldn't swim"

I remember her not being at all happy about that, I wonder why

oh yeah and my hand writing was absolutely horrible, I could barely read my own chicken scratch

I remember finding old SNES games like Yoshi's Island or Super Mario World while moving. This was a few years ago.

I found my Pokemon Stadium cartridge for the N64 why it was inside a quilt, I don't know.

I was recently at my Gran&Papa's and my gran brought out all these card that me, my brother and sister wrote when we were in nusery and early primary school. I take happiness from the fact my writing has not changed and that my drawing skills have improved :)
