I was only updated to 2.04. Just downloaded 2.05 with amazin

I haven't been keeping up with all the patches for this game. I deleted all the patches to see how the game runs w/out them (very badly). I noticed while deleting I was at 2.04. When I re-downloaded the patches, it showed 2.05. Now after downloading 2.05 everything is a lot smoother everywhere. Combat is so much smoother. Controls are more responsive, menu screens are a breeze to navigate through as opposed to all the input lag before. Whiterun is 30fps solid throughout. The game is transformed.

I have to say - having just played the game w/out patches and then jumping to 2.05, BETHESDA have done some good work with these updates. My game save is currently at 12mb and the game is smoother than when I started at level 1.
I noticed too the graphics were a lower quality w/out the patches. Lower-res textures and the anti-aliasing was worse. I couldn't believe what I saw when I deleted all updates. The game was indeed a complete mess upon release and I was shocked to see what Beth had passed off to eager gamers.

Still I wonder: why didn't my game update automatically to 2.05 when the patch was released?

2.05 (also known as 1.7) was released in Europe earlier today.

So, your general statement concerning patch 1.7 is, that it's acceptable? ;)

2.05 is 2.07!?
I thought 2.06 was gonna be "2.07"

Aaaaah so it updated to the very newest release today? I see.

Yes, it's been an amazing patch for my playthrough. Might not be the same for everyone but I'm at 12mb save and running near flawlessly.
