Wasteland workshop , do we need it?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 3:22 pm

WW come out next month and setllement are still Bugged as hell: legedary merchant vanished\recruited and then vanished, zombie settlers, automatrons have no animation for farming crops(wile there is for the robots in graygarden) ecc.

My question is: is bethesda going down the same path as skyrim and gta online? adding new stuff and keep the old stuff whidout fix. Do we need unofficial pach like in skyrim to run this game properly? And if we do, there are real and serious unoffical pach ? do we really need new features or do we need more fix to the game?

I just want to discuss it because i personally feel that there is this 2 need: 1 new stuff (especially related to post ending aka new mission for the wining facton) and more fix (especially legendary mercant and special recrutiment in general and fix to the most bugged side quest:diamond city blue, dependency ecc..).

Calm down bro. Patches won't suddenly stop being released once WW is out.

But patches might cease to be released earlier if there are no DLC generating extra income.

An unoffical patch is already in the works. Beth is a decent sized team, at this point WW is likely almost done so there's really no need to ask if we need it or not. It's happening. And by the time they annouce the next wave of DLC, all those will be happening as well. It's pretty clear from the simultaneous rollout of patches, DLC, and survival that they have teams working on these projects independantly. The DLC team progress is not being affected by the patch team progress. In the end, if an unofficial patch makes the game better for you, who cares?

of course , but i dont say that there will be no more pach, i just point out some perplexity about releasing a dlc about settlement workshop when they only partially pached the Scribe in the 1.4, do you feel that WW will be good nontheless? i dont know because i was a bit dissapointed by robots companion: they have no specilal dialogue like normal compainon have when you are in a quest or in a specila area of the game wich is the only reason for me to travel whit a companion, i really dont neither care or need about assistance in combat.

Whole lot of "We" in the OP's post. You assume too much.

It is an organization issue: delaying a DLC development is a cost by itself. Your programmers need to know what they need to do, who needs to do what, when they need to do it, when it needs to be done, how it needs to be done, etc. Waiting for all bugs to be fixed, which may take between one month to a year, is not an option.

i understand, do you think they have any priority on whic bug or stability fix need to be adress first? i ask because they are releasing a survival mode on a game that after pach 1.4 crashes almost frequently as fo3, and since autosave are disable it you cannot prevent to save before a crash occurred. do you have tried the new survival yet? have you experience any crash?

Yes we need it, but we also need for corpses to clear from settlements.

All games have bugs and a game this complex will always have some bugs but the perma corpse bug is too much.

They have to fix it. It's just to much of an eyesore to have corpses from when you found the settlement just never dissapear and even respawn if you get rid of them yourself.

People debate what immersion is all the time and what breaks immersion. Well, this is one of those things that breaks immersion, because people would not live around rotting corpses.
