Something about the new water effects in patch 1.5 causes the game to crash. If you delete the game install data and the patch install data and then reinstall it'll work again and give you the new water graphics.

There's a sticky at the top of the page with the full step by step if you need it.

good lord!! i know i should be sympathetic to my fellow PS3 players but is it seriously that hard to look at stickied topics before rage posting? every second topic is about the water freezing bug.

now that i've got that off my chest, please see Murt's post (incase you missed it...).

This is to be expected as many will be getting the game secondhand about now, probably the smartest move with hindsight too. :)

We need to remain helpful and tolerant to the new users to lessen the shock. ;)

reminds me of South Park...and we're all asking ourselves, "Where is Captain Hindsight?"
I make me laugh.

The guys getting it second hand should have fresh installs, which aren't affected.

I think this is more like people learning that the DLC is now out for PC and mistakenly thinking that the PS3 will follow shortly and picking their game back up.
