I think Wayne as Mr. New Vegas fits the game, just as Three Dog fit D.C.

Do I necessarily like him? I'd say it's about 50/50. If he had more lines, I might like him a bit more. And to those complaining about him talking over and over again about love, did you not think that was intentional. For all we know, Mr. New Vegas could be a lonely, depressed man after losing his wife and now relies on our love towards him to get him through, so he overplays it because he desperately needs it. Well, that's my theory.

One thing I don't, and yet at the same time do, like is that he has a noticeable slur when he speaks. It usually annoys me, but there were some parts where the lack of knowledge of what he just said got me laughing. Take for instance when he talks about the NCR and the Hoover Dam. In the end of it, he says "President of Hoover Dam", but to me, it sounds like "President Hoover Dam." First time I heard that, I was like "What? There's a President Hoover Dam? Who the hell is President Hoover Dam?"

Well, I thought it was a bit funny at first. :spotted owl:

Lol. Exactly. Three Dog was a [censored], but at least he was entertaining. The music and the DJ's svck in NV. Dunno what's worse, the bugs/glitches or the lame radio....

Lame radio???? Whaaa???? I will say, while I do miss the Ink Spots and Billie Holiday, Mojave Radio has amazing songs! Haven't listened too much to the radio yet but there's some classic stuff on there so far!

This thread is better if every time someone says "Wayne" without a last name you complete it as "Wayne Brady".

Oh god i never thought i would ever yearn for Three Dog but omg...

Wayne Newton as a DJ despite being a legendary Vegas entertainer his delivery in new Vegas is so deadpan, lifeless, monotone, straightest delivery i have ever heard. Seriously at least Three Dog had energy and was a DJ in the style of Wolfman jack and was for the most part entertaining.

Wayne... you love talking about love... we get it... ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

Shut uuup. I like Mr. Newton. Cheese and all. Three Mutt can go bark non-sense somewhere else

Before this game I just knew Wayne Newton was called mr. Las Vegas but I never heard his voice. I like him a lot for the radio station. It's just too bad there are only a few songs and lines he speaks.

I am a big fan of Three Dog however and was a great fan of Wolfman Jack who Three Dog reminded me of. It was a bit nostalgic for me personally. Everyone loved him. I was pretty sad when Three Dog was bashed to hell and back here. :(

I have always loved Three Dog for the same reason. Whenever I hear him I think of Wolfman Jack, whom I was also a big fan of back in the day.

Wayne Newton I am not a huge fan of. I would have rather had Sinatra, or Dean Martin, or Sammy Davis (although I do not know if any of them are still alive these days...). Or failing them, George Clooney, since he followed in Sinatra's shoes as Danny Ocean after all...

I don't mind it at all. It was a bit shocking at first, after having Three Dog screaming in my ear during all of F3, but now I just picture Mr. New Vegas sitting in his studio kicking back with a drink in his hand, a record on the table and a babe in the corner. In other words, a cool cool cat.

It's times like this I'm glad there's a DJ-free option. Mojave Music Radio, anyone? :)

I don't mind Wayne Newton's voice, I think he brings to the table exactly what was intended: a 50's cool cat, daddy-o! But his dialogue does kind of creep me out. The second he said he loved me (well, his listeners in general), I went, "Nope! Creepy", and switched the station to MMR.

Also, Black Mountain Radio is pretty entertaining, if a little repetitive.

I don't think the caster is too bad, but the fact that they only have like 3 songs on the playlist and the repetitive news, it ruins the radio. I was actually a fan of the station in FO3 not really because of three dog, but because of how the playlist and "commercials" didn't seem as repetitive.

It's not so much Wayne Newton as it is the repeated lines. Blame the devs on that one.

yeah i think if only heard him say maybe 3 different things the whole time i ave been playing

Have people actually heard Wayne Newton speak before? That's what he sounds like. That's his personality. That's all part of the 50's Vegas charm. The performers always kept their cool and never got overly emotional. Where do you think their reputation of "coolness" came from? The Rat Pack wasn't considered cool because they overreacted to everything. They were considered cool because they were nonchalant and suave.

I would make a big wall-o-text but Giant here summed my feelings up perfectly

The radio (more importantly the music selection) is about the only thing in New Vegas that isn't as good as it was in FO3.

I loved the soundtrack from 3. Don't really care for it in NV :/

Since when were there commercials in Fallout 3, outside of More Where That Came From (which simply used sound clips of actual Fallout 3 commercials)?

I like Mister New Vegas and Wayne Newton's delivery, it's just...there's so little there. It's always exciting when something new opens up in his news reports, but at the same time at Hour 30, I'm beginning to really hate those news reports talking about the loss contact from Nipton and Caesar's new Legion Commander.

The radio is bugged for all I know. It's supposed to be a very big station with some 15-20 songs or whatever it was

Wayne kinda annoys me. On top of that i feel like i listened to all those songs in Fallout 3. I kinda like Tabitha's station a little more though, the old country songs are kinda fun for some reason. I like playing my own music when exploring though. Epic post-rock and orchestrated music FTW.

I like him though. Wayne > Three Dog all day long. Or, 3dawg could've been kool if he wasnt given such a lame ass task of keeping track of everything the PC did and did not do. How the fwuck did he know what happened to Roy and his gang of misfits anyway? Please, go away!

I'm glad Wayne had the opportunity to do this but I've never really been a fan of Wayne. All I can say is when I've gone to Vegas, I never even thought about going to one of his shows. There was always someone more um, ahh, exciting to watch.

Too bad the the Bite Vampires wouldn't have made good DJs...

You guys have no idea what you're talking about with the 'lazy dev' crap. Has anyone any idea how much voice acting costs, specially in the caliber of Mathew Perry and Felecia Day?

The voice actors guild of america is just as crazy as any other guild. As an actor you CANT take a job that employs non guild members without being kicked from the guild yourself. All of these guys were in the guild.

And guild requirements are crazy... Provided limos while on site. Provide room and board, only 4 and one half star or higher, only suites. Extremely high pay for extremely limited amounts of time. Dues. Ect. Ect.

Personally, I'd much rather them put the money where it counts, and make a better game. Not some [censored] voice actors that don't sound right half the time anyways.

As for Mr. Los Vegas? He was himself, and that's exactly what I like. I have a feeling anyone who complains about it has trouble keeping their attention span taut on the game without momentary shouting or flashes of light. Typical.
