A Weakness to Poison POISON?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:45 am

I am attempting to make a poison that will work on vampires (garlic oil). I looked at the poison immunity for the vampires and it seems to be only a 100% resist poison abilities spell (for them all). This surprised me because that would mean that a weakness to poison spell would them make vampires hurt by poison (or at first I thought so).

All the articles I have read on Skyrim vampires all seem to say they are suppose to be “immune” to poison.

IF weakness to poison spell will work on a 100% resist poison stat all I have to do is make the garlic oil a disguised weakness to poison 100% and then script the damage a fraction of a second latter.

I am worried because I seem to remember in Oblivion that any resistance that was 100% could not be ignored at all. Sheogorath had 100% magic resistance and not even spells with ignore magic resistance could penetrate to him.

So if this does not work could I dispel the resistance to poison ability by putting in keyword “garlic” in their resistance spell in the keyword section for dispel??

How long would this dispel the abilities spell (just as long as my poison with the keyword Garlic lasts)?

CAN abilities spells be dispelled like that?

Well I am going to try some of this now, I hope for once my intended feature it is a fast project with simple use of conditions and not a lot of scripting.

 yeah...right...

ok...I am confused, do you check the dispel via keywords box [ ] in the magic effect you want to dispel or the magic effect that will be doing the dispel to the other magic effect?

I think if you check the box, the spell will dispel spells with the specified keywords.

If unchecked, I think the keywords mark the spell as dispellable by anything effective against those keywords.

Did that make sense?

In any case, I've not tested it - that's just how I understood the form. (I was confused too)

Thanks,I had thought that was it as well but it did not work. I have also now tried it both ways and it still will not work.

"NOT WORK" because of the immunity to poison... not because the keyword dispel use is incorrectly used. So because they both did not work I was not even sure which way it was suppose to work.

(oh for god sake, this sounds confusing to me and I wrote the sentence.)

Anyway the dispel trick will not work with 100% resistance. That is to bad and not the way I would have made the game myself. No combination of "tricks" with the conditions work, when it is 100% resistance it just stops it dead.

99% will work but that will be confusing to players I think when thy get other poison effects on "immune" actors even if the effects are miniscule.

So now I will try some complicated, convoluted should be unnecessary scripting instead....
