Features:
- The system records durability for equipped weapons and armor and saves them, this is done by a 10 level based degradation system.
- This system only works while in combat, so if you hit a corpse with a melee weapon nothing will trigger.
- Whenever you hit an enemy with a melee weapon in the right hand their is a small chance that it will incur damage and the degradation level for Main Hand will increase by 1. This effect has an internal cooldown and after occuring once will not do so again for 60 seconds in real time.
- While you have a melee weapon equipped in the left hand their is a chance that the degradation level for the Off-Hand will increase by 1 whenever you attack with your main weapon OR your secondary weapon. The reaosn that it works this way is due to game design and limits, also when dual-wielding why would you only attack with your main weapon? That kind of defeats the purpsoe of dual-wielding in the first place.
- The same works for armor items but instead of the degradation level increasing when you hit an enemy it will only occur when the PC takes a hit from a physical weapon or projectile.
- Its also possible for your ranged weapon (bow only currently) to take durability damage and add 1 degradation level to Ranged, but this will happen on taking hits not inflicting them (may change).
- When degradation level 10 is reached ANY item worn at that time which meets the correct criteria will BREAK and a broken version of that item will be added as a misc item. For example if you are wearing steel armor, you take a hit from a arrow and degradation level 10 is reached then that steel armor will be instantly removed and a misc item named "broken item(steel): cuirass" will be added to your inventory instantly.
- Repairs can be made using light/heavy repair kits which can be purchased from venders. Light repair kits reduce the degradation level for 1 criteria type by 4 and heavy repair kits reduce the degradation level for all criteria types by 5.
- Broken armor and weapons (represented as misc items) can be used along with some materials to restore weapons and armor back to their original form. For example 1x "broken item(steel): cuirass" misc item and 1x "steel ingot" misc item can be used to craft steel armor.
The degradation level system functions as follows:
Right Hand (melee only weapons equipped with either the right OR left hand. The degradation level will only increase IF you have a melee weapon equipped in either hand)
Left Hand (see just above)
Two Handed (melee only weapons equipped with both hands)
Ranged (ranged only weapons equipped with both hands)
Shield (shields are classed as armor with this system)
Head (armor/clothing worn only on the head)
Body (armor/clothing worn only on the body)
Hands (armor/clothing worn only on the hands)
Feet (armor/clothing worn only on the feet)
