There are accessories in the form of bone charms (feel like I should take on a nickname, Mr. Bone) that offer minor buffs for various abilities that otherwise aren't quantified such as faster swimming speed, longer duration for effects of powers and improved fencing ability. You find or buy statues that give you more slots where you can equip bone charms. Sarkayel (I'm really sorry if I'm misspelling your name again), a developer, has said you start with 3 slots and I did a Google Translate for a French article that said there'd be 10 total slots. That detail hasn't popped up elsewhere, so take that with a grain of salt.
Your attire might change according to circumstance. I don't have anything to back that up except my gut feeling. When you first start the game, you'll be a bodyguard so your clothing (which will really just be the wrists or maybe a little bit more of the arm showing) should be more regal or professional looking to start. Your gloves are brown later on, and I wouldn't be surprised if you look different for the masquerade ball. I just wouldn't count on these things, and even if they occur it will likely not be in our control.
Between the powers though along with blueprints that you find to upgrade your sword, crossbow, gun, grenades, and dagger (that might get replaced---two melee weapons seem superfluous) and the bone charms---there will be enough room I think to make your own Corvo.
