"Weightless" Combat - BIGGEST problem facing ESO!

Post » Sat Apr 06, 2013 1:44 pm

I've researched ESO thoroughly and one of the complaints I see over and over is the weightless combat.

What does weightless or unweighted combat mean?
In Skyrim when you rare back and swing a two handed weapon not only do you feel the weight of the sword carrying you forward but the person you hit reacts to the attack by stumbling or falling to the ground.

In ESO Ive heard a TON of reviewers say that when you hit something there is almost no reaction....they just stand there like nothing ever happened at all. In fact I heard that the only time a mob reacts to an attack is when you are doing a knock back etc.

Many people are complaining that the combat feel very weightless and even the players themselves move around like butterflies.

Weight might not seem like a big deal but it is a HUGE deal in terms of combat realism. Many MMO's in the past had weightless combat systems where when you hit mobs they didn't even flinch and you could run around swinging a huge weapon like it was a dagger. All of those games failed miserably. I thought that since Skyrim had VERY GOOD weighted combat that this would not be a problem in ESO. But it seems now to be the #1 problem.

welcome to the forums, this issue is known and I'm sure it is being addressed. Players at PAX East did confirm the combat was slightly floaty, but nothing a small adjustment shouldn't be able to fix.

It is an MMO, and weighted combat is pretty much a no show in that genre.
