Well, I feel stupid

Feel free to point and laugh, or pat my back and comfort me. I just realized you can have more than one kind of fish in the hatchery at once. I thought once you put something in, that was all you could have swimming around in there. I had salmon in there for the roe, but I had a hard time finding histcarp. I just tried putting a histcarp in the hatchery and it worked. Now I fell like a derp. But a rich one, also farming jazbay graqes.

Never mind, now you can look forward to all those different kinds of fish swimming around in your hatchery, unfortunately you have to go fishing elsewhere for salmon roe though, salmon in Skyrim only breed in rapids.

i just fus at the salmon and collect their bodies. I get a unit of roe with every one i pick up. but now with the histcarp swimming around, i'm having a hard time grabbing the right fish. which is still rather sad...

Don't feel bad, I did not even know there was a fish hatchery.

Where is the fish hatchery? I have not even see this thing in the game.

It's a buildable feature at Windstad Manor (Morthal house)

Oh yea, I remember now. I don't think I have that house past the Cottage stage yet.

I've heard salmon roe yields some incredibly powerful potions. That'll make Windstad a good place for my alchemist to hang her hat.

That's exactly why I have Jazbay graqes growing there as well. I'm at level 59 in Alchemy, but I'm making potions worth 1552 gold with Salmon Roe, Histcarp and Jazbay graqes.

BTW You can have it with the cottage, as it's an outdoor feature like the stable or garden.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you can't get salmon roe from any salmon you spawn there, not even meat. They do spawn if you add some roe, but you get nothing at all from them.

Edited for stupid typing.

Said it before, but if you kill the salmon then harvest their floating bodies, it adds roe.

We have all done something in Derp mode before. I recall yesterday that I tried to talk to someone with my mouse....instead I put an arrow to her face and the whole town attacked me. Curse you new PC buttons!
