well this is depressing

I understand that there are other posts about this but i felt the need to be heard. Since when is it an ethical practice to release $60 of software that doesn't work? I'm sorry, but this is entirely unacceptable. I purchased a game that I can no longer play because of critical, game breaking, bugs (i am referring to the framerate bug in the PS3 version that has rendered the game unplayable). The worst of it is that i TECHNICALLY cannot return it for cash, because it is functioning properly. the bug is not a defect on the disk but a defect on all the discs and so my "return claim" is invalid. Bethesda says to wait and calm down, that the bug will be fixed, but to be honest, i am not confident given their track record with fallout. and even if they do, that's besides the point. I feel betrayed and taunted. i've been waiting to play this game for a long while, and now that i have it, and have gotten to play it a bit, i no longer can. it feels a bit cruel to me...

Just think about Todd Howard. You think he cares? He is laughing at you right now while he is on "vacay" with Pete Hines drinking champagne.

No. Letting your voice be heard IS something you can do about it. Granted it will take a LOT of voices to get the fix we all so desire, its still better than sitting by idly doing/saying nothing...

Agreed, im so disappointed about this, i get to a few MB's and i notice some lag...now im at 11MBs... OMG fps lag is killing me, i cant even enjoy the game in the least due to this issue, wth, why did this game get released with so many bugs.... can we please get a game released for once that is MOSTLY bug free as apposed to VERY bug prone? as i seem to remember.... whenever i got my copy of Oblivion it had MANY MANY problems too, is it so much to ask to get a game released with only minor bugs as apposed to game changing ones... BETHESDA, guys i know we all wanted this game released so bad.... but seriously... is that an excuse to rlease it halfway through debugging? I wonder if you guys felt okay about releasing the game with so many problems...

You do realize that the majority of PS3 players are NOT having problems, don't you? It's not EVERYONE.

What type of PS3 do you have? Did you download the first patch?

I would like to know the circumstances of why yours hasn't lagged. Mine hasn't neither, but I'm early in the game.

Okay I'm curious, if the "Majority" supposedly don't have this problem. Does that mean the Minority should just sit back and not be heard about their issues? should we just sit there and say "oh well it's just my luck". I don't think so, we the Minority have a right just like everyone else to be heard when we have a problem. Paying all that money for a game, that works for almost everyone is like giving someone a book with almost all it's pages.

What 'Fallout track record' do you speak of? Fallout 3 runs fine.. the odd bug or freeze doesnt mean the game is 'broken'. Fallout 3 runs a lot smoother than Skyrim/Oblivion infact.

Eventually you either learn from your mistakes and stop buying their product, or you put your faith into the patching team and hope they fix it. I've already played enough of my copy to get the worth out of the game for me. Saying it is a 60 dollar coaster is a bit of hyperbole.

Until your save hits a certain side and it [censored] the bed, exactly the same way this one is doing for ps3 owners. I learned from buying fo3 on ps3, I chose to buy it on PC this time so I could experience all new problems.

You most certainly have an avenue to recoup your costs: the BBB or similar consumer protections advocates/agencies.

File a complaint against both the retailer and Bethesda/ZeniMax and never let it die unless and until you receive a full refund.

Yeah I don't get too much stuttering at all. As a mater of fact I haven't had any issues. I am running a 160 fat, and my savegame file is probably close to 6 mg, and I have close to 13 hours in. I hope nothing happens, but if it does I will just start a new shade and prepare him for the end as well! I am sure they will fix it sooner than later.

here's a decent chart to give people an idea of what to expect, and maybe explain why a lot of people aren't having problems yet.

Under 6000 kb, very few hick ups, generally fine.

6000 - 7000, long periods of game play will start to cause lag. and general lag occurs after entering most cities and while traveling through the forest. But all in all it's nothing game breaking, Just very annoying.

7000 - 8000, This is where the game starts to become frustrating to play. Expect pretty serious lag after entering a city, or while riding a horse, or a dragon fight ect... Compact places like caves and homes don't have very many problems.

8000 - 9000, The game can be downright unplayable at times. But if you can stand very low frame rates and constant hick ups wherever you go then you'll be just fine.

9000 - 10000, I have yet to make it this far and I can only imagine trying to play at this point.

10000+, Give it up.

I just feel so ... so... BLARGARAHALHGGHSAL over this whole thing. i absolutely ADORE TES series and i have been waiting for skyrim for a very long time. the kicker of this whole thing is that i was debating between getting the PS3 or PC version of the game. i opted for PS3 because my CPU just barely met the minimum requirements for the game and i wanted it to be BEAUTIFUL. HA!

You have no idea where most players are in the game atm, you just assume because all your cyber besties are agreeing with you.
