Well I'll be. Vampire attacks on cities do stop after DG MQ.

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 2:17 am

I'm a mage so I have been casted detect dead in cities everytime I enter them either day or night. Not a single one.

Impressive. I bought DG back when it came out and only got around to playing it the last two weeks while avoiding cities. I did the DG MQ straight through without entering a single city to avoid casualties.

I wish I knew the attacked ended back in June.

If you really want to spawn an attack you can blot out the sun - that gives a chance of a vampire attack on the cities.

Oddly enough I've gotten almost no attacks after blotting the sun. Like maybe 1 or 2 that I remember.

Still around for a time and in limited numbers in the wilds though, especially at night but diminishing all the time.

But Vanilla had that. DG doesn't influence vampire attacks in the wild in the slightest. Only the fact that the vampires in the wild are all upgraded with the new armor and death hounds.

Now the interesting thing I've come across in the wild was an encounter with three vampires. I walked up to the group, because they were ALL dressed like Vigils of Stendarr. I was about to talk to them, when I saw some half naked bodies on the ground and when I held my mouse over them, it said "search Vigil of Stendarr". I was like WTH and then I got attacked.

I was like woah that's pretty cool! Smart Vampires LOL

Oh and if I fast travel to any city and arrive during the night, I will come across a vampire attack usually. So, now I just travel to the stables and walk the rest. I haven't started the Dawnguard questline on my current character.

I just had my first encounter with 3 vampires dressed as Vigilents of Stendarr. I was riding a horse when one of them said "Hey, traveler". I just had my second encounter with two gargoyles in the wild, too.

I'm playing a Dawnguard character that stopped the quest at the start of Chasing Echoes stage. I get vampires attack in the city, in the wild, encounter with the mysterious traveler, and the vampire scouts outside Fort Dawnguard every 3-5 days.
