Were there dragoborns in this period?

Post » Sat Dec 07, 2013 4:59 am

I have a laughably poor knowledge of Elder Scrolls lore...

Were there any dragonborns in TESO time period?

If I remember correctly, this was before Tiber Septim, and there were definitely dragonborns before him.

If there was, maybe there could be a Dragonborn skill line?

I would love to unrelenting force people in pvp...

There may have been, but not in this game. Never, destroy all your hope and never speak of this again

Sorry, a Dragonborn (of which their are very few around at the same time anyway, usually only 1) skill-line will never happen unless they want to only appeal to the Skyrim Kitties who could care less about lore and have most of the TES crowd leave.

Also, while you CAN learn shouts without being Dragonborn (obviously) it takes a huge amount of time do even learn ONE shout at all. Plus the only people who could ever teach you shouts would never agree to help a random guy who just wants to learn how to shout (remember, Ulfric was training for YEARS to master JUST unrelenting force and even then only seemed to be able to use it rarely)

Because they changed the date of Aldmeri Dominion being founded they have a habit?

What other retcons are there?

Okay...

Thanks.

(Guess I need to hope on TES wiki and look up this time period.)

But yeah I agree, although it's fun to shout at people, the retcon wouldn't be worth it.

Edit: (Sorry, I meant to quote, but the quote system seems to be acting up for me.)

Depends if you count Wulfharth the Ash King in his ashen and half-death state as Dragonborn.

I THINK she might also be referencing the fact Cyrodiil was supposed to be a rain-forest around this time period (changed into what it is now by Talos), but that itself is a retcon made by bethesda anyway.

I've seen people say this before, who's to say that the AD we see now isn't just a different AD? Maybe this one dissolved after beating Molag Bal and it didn't reform until the later date?

Stuff like this, lifespan of elves reduced greatly, etc. I'm not a lore junky though. Dragon breaks yes?

I don't think it was ever confirmed that elves lived to be thousands of years old. I believe when this information came out that many people realized that the ones that did live that long were ones that were more on the magical side. So that isn't a lore-breaking thing, it's just them adding more on this and people just didn't agree with it.

while Elves do live long, don't use elder scrolls wiki use UESP(unofficial elder scrolls pages) for lore or really anything related to TES

That source is an in game book about an elf who was semi magically inclined and probably had a court mage who could extend their life. I wouldn't call that a reliable source on normal mer living for 1000s of years. Just because it has a source, it does not mean that source is good. Pretty much any book in game is a poor source as they are written by in game characters, thus not always accurate or embellished or just flat out have their facts wrong.

Ah, let's get on the topic of in game facts. It has a source, I put the source, I follow the source. If the only information I have is a thousand years, then a thousand years I will continue until I find otherwise.

Unless, of course, you have evidence to rebuttal?
