Werewolf - Back to Basics

Day Three

The first of the council had fallen, and they were looking for revenge. With the search of the noblemen's houses turning up some oddities around Nathaniel Leinhart (Hircine21), the crowd decided that he should be the first to hang from the newly erected gallows in the town center.

It was a fairly simple ordeal; at no point did the cranky nobleman even attempt to resist. He merely exclaimed "I'm way above being in this council any way! Having me was an honor!", before the noose was tightened around his neck and the block under the feet removed. After several seconds of dangling, a chill went through the crowd. Black hair sprouted from the pompous nobleman, as he was revealed to be one of the three beasts they had seen at the beginning of this all. The crowd cheered, but the celebration didn't last long as they realized there were two more beasts out there, and that another innocent would die tonight.

It had been decided that the place where it apparently all started should be searched, and so, after their first victory, the innocents marched out to the forest. Unlike yesterday, no rain had fallen tonight. The first thing they noticed when moving deeper into the forest were what looked like human remains; those they had once loved, those that attempted to escape, dead. Were there any survivors? It would be impossible to tell. The remains looked picked clean. Deeper into the forest, animal remains were found. These seemed to be mostly wolf carcasses. Also found were some feathers, though nobody could figure out what bird they were from. The group also managed to find a more worn area, where no animal dared tread. Magda (Teehee:3) suggested this might be where the wolves gathered. Damion (Disturbing) pointed out there were some oddly coloured specks on the ground, which were soon identified as rust.

With such a boring, expansive area to search, the day quickly passed. Before they knew it, the sun had begun to set. The group hurred back to their beds, waiting for the night to pass so they could reconvene tomorrow. In their heart, they all knew that tonight someone would scream again in the night, and would have met a brutal end.

Imagine, then, their surprise, when everyone got a good night's sleep. No screams in the night at all. There were looks of surprise all around, but it did not last, as they figured out that Indy the Indecent (Woolly) did not show up. The group quickly hurried over to his shack at the edge of time, perfectly within viewing range of Karen's (Ratwar) shack.

Upon opening the door, they realized nobody had ever been inside Indy's shack before. What they found inside was multiple tables, one with manacles, others filled will implements that the group was unsure what they would be used for. In the middle of the room the table with manacles had some blood splattered on it, though it seemed to be dry. Upon closer inspection, it seemed the manacles had been broken out of. There was what seemed to be some fur on the table, too.

In the corner, the slouched, dead body of Indy could be seen. It looked like his stomach had been cut open by something sharp, though nobody could make out what made the gaping wounds. He had a sad look on his face, but not a look of surprise. Unable to find anything else, the crowd moved out again. Could they catch another one of the beasts in the following day?

They'd have to see.

The spoiler underneath this line contains a legend with who lives where. Searches will be conducted for a general area; e.g., searching area 5 would search all the houses there.

Commandant Oreo

Name: Saloth the Swift

Age: 40
Physical description: 6'4, weighs 170, has extremely green eyes and is bald by choice. He looks pretty rough. Lost both of his arms in an assassination attempt against a local lord about a decade ago. Not that it stopped him or anything.

Clothing: Lightweight metal armor to cover important parts of the bodies and on the legs, with the rest of the body covered in a decorative robe which includes a hood. Complete with House colors, which are green and white.

Occupation: For most of his life, he's been a bandit. He's cutback on it a lot now, because he's had enough of the laughter and ridicule of his victims, who usually will fight gladly against a no armed opponent whereas before he would only kill if he had to. Nowadays he spends most of his time pursuing bounties within the hold for the fun of the chase, the good coin and the recognition of taking down infamous outlaws.

Hobbies: Saloth, outside of bounty hunting, will usually find himself reading a good book, as he ignored literature and philosophy growing up and placing merchant cargo as a higher priority at the time. When he's not reading, he's training vigorously to keep himself from being vulnerable.
Possessions: http://images.wikia.com/ninjagaiden/images/4/49/Falcon%27s_Talons.jpg, a herb powder from some tribals to numb pain, a copy of his favorite book, "10 Ways to Kill a Man After He's Dead" and experimental animal repellant that he "took" from a ranger who wouldn't "need" it anymore.

Personality: Saloth thinks himself as a naturally talented "combat artist" and takes heavy offence to anyone who slights him or thinks he's extra fragile. He's never afraid of new challenges and will often agree to a bounty before he even knows who the hit is out on. Despite his love for his "art", he shows no "love" for his "product". He does what he needs to and moves on. If he's not offended, he's a good guy to have a chat with and makes for a good drinking buddy, if you don't mind feeding him the alcohol. He's a natural at taking orders and completing it, but don't ever tell him how do to it. Artists have no time to be told how their canvas should be drawn.

History: Saloth has ventured many places in his youth, but after his parents got hit by a bandit raid, he decided that's how he would get out of poverty. After the loss of his arms, he decided that perhaps it was time for a change. He settled down for good in this area. After the hospitality of the locals started running dry, he decided that he was going to get his "sword arm swingin' again". He started building his reputation by slaughtering infamous bandit chiefs who he knew personally and knew would be easy prey and easy money. Currently he is here in town taking a break, and keeping his eye out for a mark he's sure is here.

DaggerfallFTW

Name: Klaus Z?llner

Age: 34

Physical description: 5'4"/340lbs/hazel eyes/stringy grey and brown hair. Grotesquely overweight, riddled with boils on the face and skin lesions on the body, patches of hair missing, cleft foot, cleft lip.

Hobbies: Counting money, spending money, consuming alcohol, womanizing, coersion, doing financial and legal 'favors', tormenting the poor.

Possessions: Large purse of gold and silver currency; holy writ of empowerment as Tax Collector for his divine majesty, the Emperor; signet ring which doubles as a poison ring, holy religious icon blessed by the local high priest.
Personality: Klaus terrorizes his jursidiction of 8 villages. He is a sadist and is always acompanied by a band of armed guards with the threat of disciplined soldiers. If there is a way to bribe someone to do his will, Klaus will find it. Where bribery doesn't work, blackmail usually will. If you can't pay your taxes, you had better have a wife, a daughter, or a standing army.

History: Klaus grew up as a snitch, collecting dirt on his enemies (which was everyone), and trading secrets. Gossip from Klaus was never free, and always had an interested listener. His success at this increased his manipulative abilities, and his hate for others put him as a prime candidate for collecting taxes. Having the backing of the priestly class and charged by the Holy Emperor, everyone under his worm-ridden boot is well aware that if they defy him, their lives and immortal soul are at stake. Usually with fire. His only regard for other's lives is in their ability to pay their taxes, or to provide amusemant for him.

Dalek

Name: Reibardt E'lutice
Age: 34
Physical description: About 5'9" with an average frame. He has well-trimmed unsaturated orange hair, pale blue eyes, a pallid skin tone and a rather mean-looking face with features that can only be described as being aristocratic.
Clothing: A robe-type of garb http://i.imgur.com/oTuUIl2.png with an off-white base color and green/brown trimmings around the collar and cuffs.
Occupation: Scientist in the field of "tiny things".
Hobbies: Talking to his reflection, explaining his ridiculous theories of "tiny pieces of the natural world", and drawing strange scenery.
Possessions: Reibardt is always carrying at least one roll of parchment along with a quill and a tube of ink to write his thoughts down, and a 5 inch shard of reflective stone to talk to himself.
Personality: Reibardt has a rather zany personality, consistently seen to be talking to himself about his latest findings and theories as if he were explaining them to someone. He also has a strange fear of clouds and stars-- anything in the sky, really. He is easily angered whenever someone tries to boss him around but never resorts to violence. Reibardt sees many of the townspeople as being brutish and primitive, so he often refuses to leave his home for the town. Whenever he does, he doesn't speak much to anyone.
History: Reibardt hails from Ireland, leaving his cottage in Kilkenny to "acquaint himself" with the scientific minds of Paris, London, Lubeck, and Cordoba -- his greatest dream is of visiting the great city of Constantinople. Reibardt has seen much on his travels and has always been quite strange. He often goes on much about a "red-haired angel" who visits him in his dreams. It was this red-haired angel that had inspired Reibardt to pursue the science of "tiny things" or "quinthum methanits" as he has come to call them. Reibardt is convinced that the red-haired angel not only visits him in his dreams, but in his reflection. He often talks over his theories on quinthum methanits with this angel.

Disturbing

Name: Damion The Cripple

Age: 70 something.(he doesn't really keep count anymore)

Physical Description: It's hard to find a man uglier than Damion. He is short and hunches constantly due to his leg being removed at the kneecap and replaced with a block of wood. He is missing more than half of his teeth and his left eye as well. Years of hard labor(or lack thereof) has left him wrinkled and drooping in just about all of the places a man can droop. He is completely bald.

Occupation: beggar

Hobbies: drinking, gambling, and six(has been having a bit of the dry run on the last one)

Possessions: An old wooden cane that he needs to walk with, his old preserved right eye he keeps for luck, a small bag of fake jewelry that he has yet to trick someone into buying, and a necklace with the remainder of his teeth hanging from it.

Personality: Damion is the poster child for senile old men. He is a bit nutty in the head and prone to random fits of giggles and uncontrollable laughter. Greedy to the core, he'll do just about anything(short of working) to get a few coins. He's about as shameless as a man can get and holds disdain for just about anybody whose doing better off than him.

History: Damion had always been a wanderer. He left his village where he was born and raised as fast as he could(with a good share of the family "fortune") and went from town to town blowing it off on gambling and prosttutes. He tried landing some honest work, but would find himself too greedy and impatient to take in his income at a slow lawful speed. Not being cut out for thievery or fighting, Damion took to scamming. This went fairly well for him, until the local law caught on and Damion had his eye and leg removed for his crimes(he thought it an odd punishment as well). Since then, he has wandered and begged until finding himself in *insert village name* where he has stayed ever since.

This makes him a cunning business man, and when things don't go his way, he tends to just let it go and move on. He has a light belief in faith, but usually only uses it to make him seem more humble.
History: Henry was born to a poor man with nothing to him but his name. Growing up, he knew that he had to manipulate those around him in order to get what he wants, and his personality proves this. When he set out from his fathers home, he swore to his father that he would make the Chandler name one people would remember. From then on, he wandered across the landscape, investing in businesses and selling his own goods, until people figured out that he was ripping them off. However, the businesses he started usually we're quite successful and he ended up making himself quite known. Though his name is occasionally used as taboo, Chandler's ill-willed name caused many women to clammer to him, and he has quite a few children already. As of now, he has drifted into a lonely village that seems like it could use a lesson in basic business practices, and plans on rejuvenating its market.

History: Sigfried Scarlatti is of noble birth, and has therefore enjoyed a life with little exposure to the horrible aspects of the middle ages. Already when he was a little boy he showed signs of great health by being naturally stronger, sturdier and a faster runner than his peers, and he quickly gained a reputation among the nobles as a talented warrior. Nowadays he serves as a knight in times of war, but he also considers himself a scholar of the arts and is active among the posh musicians and artists.

However, some insignificant village has now fallen victim to a series of terrible events, and Sigfried has been assigned to travel and have a closer look at what's going on. Of course this is a giant waste of time, and he can't wait to find himself on the way back home.

History: Even as a child Gil showed exceptional talent in designing and constructing several kinds of devices. His father gave him moral support and offered him materials from his workshop. However, their town was pillaged by marauders. They chanced upon this town after several days of hardship endured under a scorching, summer sun. Gil's father tutored him in the craft of a weapon-smith and gave him the tools of his current trade.

Morrowind Fanatic

Name: Robert "Bear" Drouve (Pronounced Drove)

Age: 47

Physical description: Standing at 6'8" and weighing a little over 300 lbs, Mr. Drouve was best described as "imposing", though he was more husky than fit, with short black hair (admittedly with grays creeping in) and a well-grown beard framing his soft blue eyes, somewhat mellowing out his appearance.

Clothing: Drouve's clothing almost made him appear as though he had shown up to replace the local Lord, a fine pair of gray breeches, bottomed by black boots and topped with an extravagant white tunic with golden brocade. On top of all this, he was well adorned with a silver amulet, the center jewel being a well-sized (though far from massive) sapphire, a gorgeous arctic-fox trimmed cloak, and a lavish gold ring on his right ring finger.

Occupation: Drouve is a quite well-off merchant in a large city about 90 miles off, and the occasional economic adviser to the Lord of his homeland.

Hobbies: Drouve is a self-proclaimed philanthropist, and an avid reader of books, with a particular fascination in stories about being such as vampires and lycanthropes, though he is level-headed enough to know such stories are just stories.
Possessions: Financial log-book and fountain pen, short story titled "On Lycanthropy", an embroidered map of the region, and a chocolate bar wrapped in papyrus, and a small amount of gold for emergency spending.

Personality: Drouve is a very easily approachable and friendly man, though he doesn't usually enjoy being the center of attention. He is generally slow to anger, though he can become a tad annoyed when people disregard his advices
History: Drouve has been a merchant since he turned 22, selling his house (inherited from the passing of his parents), and using the money to start his business selling... most things, though as time went on his wares became finer and finer, now procuring goods for the social elite, and charging an appropriate sum of money for every piece of it. He was on a trip to another sizable city, about 120 miles off the village in a direction opposite his home, traveling with two guards and a horse-drawn carriage. The night before, they had stopped to camp a mile or two out of the village, unaware of its exact proximity (presuming it was ten miles off), and when Mr. Drouve awoke in his carriage this morning, his guards and his horses were gone, and his merchandise too, though it almost looked as if there was more than just the missing's tracks on the ground. He kept on towards the village, hoping he could find information, or at the least a carriage home.

Mr. E

Name: Brother Bartholomew

Age: 41
Physical description: Big (a hair over six feet) and rotund, with a thick mat of red-streaked curled hair, full beard and mustache, almost obscuring his fat cheeks and green eyes.
Clothing: As with Brother James, he sports a simple brown robe and white belt, the latter of which is rather threadbare in attempting to contain his belly.

Occupation: Friar
Hobbies: Brewing, brewing, praying, and more brewing.
Possessions: Along with the standard book of psalms, he wears a small cross on a leather strap around his neck. He also carries around his favorite vat-stirring ladle, three bottles full of various beers from notable batches, and a small leather pouch he uses to pick ingredients of interest (but is currently empty).
Personality: Brother Bartholomew is soft-spoken and reserved, and more than a little neurotic. It's been said that if the fellow friars weren't so supportive of the funds and occasional enlightenment gleamed from the brewing that is Bartholomew's main hallmark, he'd have left long ago.
History: Bartholomew was orphaned at the age of three and left on the friars' doorstep by (according to his Brothers) his devastatingly sickly father, who perished days later. Bartholomew's own skin was marked by the sickness, and while Brother Isaiah tended to him, he was under-cautious with the rubbing alcohol, fueling the greatest love of Bartholomew's life. He stayed with the friars for education, and later, out of convenience, and tends to remain far from the spotlight in the cellars.

Northwind Fusilier

Name: Bestiality Carter

Age: ~30
Physical description: Middle height, middle weight. Brown hair. Perpetually perplexed expression.

Clothing: Blue tunic, brown hose. White apron over all of it.
Occupation: Baker

Hobbies: Acting and Morris Dancing (but definitely not, and I want to be clear about this, the Stick and Bucket Dance)
Possessions: A rolling pin, a bag of flour, a few pastries, and a set of bells (like an accordion)
Personality: Friendly and gregarious. Slow-witted and easily confused.
History: Well, it's like this... The Carter parents were a quiet and respectable family who got into a bit of a mix-up when it came to naming their children. First they had four daughters, who were christened Hope, Chastity, Prudence, and Charity, because naming girls after virtues is an ancient and unremarkable tradition. Then their first son was born and out of some misplaced idea about how this naming business was done he was called Anger Carter, followed later by Jealousy Carter, Bestiality Carter, and Covetousness Carter. Life being what it is, Hope turned out to be a depressive, Chatity was enjoying life as a lady of negotiable affection in the big city, Prudence had thirteen children, and Charity expected to get a dollar's change out of seventy-five pence - whereas the boys had grown into amiable, well-tempered men, and Bestiality Carter was, for example, very kind to animals.

Ratwar

Name: Karen Reynolds

Age: 22

Physical description Karen has long dirty blond hair that is slightly curly. She stands a bit tall at 5'4", and is pretty slim. Her lack of childbearing hips has 'allowed' her to stay unmarried this long. Karen is athletic.

Clothing: A brown (it was once white, but we’re a few hundred years away from modern bleach, so it is brown now) wool tunic over a tan linen dress. Karen has wool socks on and leather shoes.

Occupation: Milkmaid

Hobbies: Dancing and drawing (especially the cats that inhabit the barn)

Possessions: Bucket, wooden cup, sparkly rock (which she considers lucky)

Personality:Karen is intelligent, mischievous, and a bit shy. She also has trouble trusting people, perhaps owing to being abandoned by her father. Karen is not a natural leader, but she is a good observer, and can provide insightful advice on a given situation. She is not a slacker.

History: Karen’s mother died in childbirth with Karen’s younger brother (who himself died in infancy). Her father remarried, and basically abandoned Karen when she was four. Luckily, Karen’s Uncle, Paul Whitworth, took her in, and has raised her on his farm, along with his family. She still lives with them today, although the farm is now run by her cousin, rather than her Uncle. The Whitworths are an important family in the area (small amount of land ownership), and as such Karen is considered to be a ‘catch’ for any young man.

Teehee:3
Name: Magda Lyndenhardt

Age: 57
Physical Description: Madga has a crooked back and an even more crooked smile. Her grey hair is thin and wispy, barely clinging on to her scalp, her steely grey eyes seem to focus in different directions, and her wrinkled skin vaguely resembles that of a bruised and rotten peach. A large mole has taken up residence on one of her cheeks; she calls it Neville.
Clothing: A faded and torn frock, loosely clinging to her skeletal frame. She covers her shoulders with a potato sack cloth shawl and her feet with crudely fashioned boots. A single copper bracelet hangs from her limp wrist.
Occupation: Village hag

Hobbies: Begging, drinking, talking to inanimate objects...

Possessions: Copper bracelet, bag of coins, several strands of rope that she uses as a makeshift belt, waterskin containing some stale mead.
Personality: Magda is a kind soul, if a little nutty. Her willingness to help others comes from a desire to be helped herself. Despite living in absolute poverty, Magda can hardly motivate herself to improve her situation, or to do much at all. She longs for a friend. Has a soft spot for the drink.
History Born to a brewer, Magda has grown up around alcohol her entire life. A common joke in her old village was that Lyndenhardt children were weaned on mead instead of milk, and have beer running through their veins rather than blood. At a young age, Magda left her village searching for adventure and instead fell in love with the owner of a local tavern here in the village. When her husband passed away, Magda was cast onto the street and left penniless. She's been begging ever since.

TheLexicon

Name: Nyran (male)
Age: 24
Description: Slightly under average weight, though he has a good build. Stands at 6'1". Green eyes and a hair a shade or two brighter than black, tied in a neat ponytail that extends in between his shoulderblades.
Clothing: A dull but intricately designed orange tunic that reflects an autumn forest, and tan pants. Black embroidered belt around his waist.
Occupation: Merchant.
Hobbies: He reads, mostly. He's a little bit of a scholarly type, but still thought that making a living by selling whatever he came across as better.
Possessions: A hatchet, in case the crazies come after him. A few coins, but that's it. Also a good book.
Personality: Easy to get along with, though stubborn in the ways of haggling. Friendly and willing to help out another person. Despite being fairly wealthy, he is not pompous or arrogant.
History: What are they looking for here? A comedic dimensional warp or something? Um:
He lived with his parents in a city nearby when his mother died of illness when he was only fourteen. His father took his own life a few years later. Ever since, Nyran has been trying to make a living by selling things, and he has been successful so far. He has lived in this quiet village for some time selling his wares when the rumors of the increased wolf activity began...

The.Z.Man

Name: Brother James

Age: 50
Physical description: James bears greying hair in the tonsure. He has deep brown eyes and rather healthy looking skin for his age. He is 6'0'' and lightweight without being frail. He does have a bum right knee though.
Clothing: He wears a standard friars garb, modeled on the Franciscan order (although he is not Franciscan), i.e. brown robe and white rope as a belt.
Occupation: Friar
Hobbies: Prayer, Pilgrimages, Gardening
Possessions: Prayer Beads, an old, very valuable handwritten copy of the Psalms, A walking stick made from the branch of an oak tree [He takes his oath of poverty seriously]
Personality: Upbeat and outgoing, James fits the role of jolly-friar quite well. He bears a confidence that sometimes hides the humility of a holy man, but his convictions are real and deep. He is very well liked by his peers.
History: His parents encouraged all of his siblings into church life, and they wished that James, their youngest would become a priest of their parish, but in a sort of act of rebellion, he joined a mendicant order and left town for good. He settled in a community outside of his home country and has been leading a good life there, ministering to those in need. He was recently struck with the urge to return home and visit his family, and so he set out on a pilgrimage for home, a trip which brought him to this small village...

Woolly

Name: Indy the Indecent
Age: 34
Physical description: Crisply dressed, for a villager. A shambling walk, a haunted expression. Average height and weight. Jerky movements. Large hands.
Clothing: Period-appropriate clothes, with a mildly Eastern flavor. A peacock feather hangs around his neck.
Occupation: Somewhat quackish healer.
Hobbies: Leeching, brewing common herbs and feeding them to animals, dissection.
Possessions: Knife well-suited for carving flesh, sack of herbs, vials of brews (mainly opiates for pain), notebook full of samples from local plant life.
Personality: Almost unbearably sad, as though he feels the world too deeply. Skittish, unable to maintain eye contact. Cripplingly afraid of curved, sharp objects. Reliable for occasional gallows humor, and far more comfortable in a crisis than in peacetime.
History: Born, allegedly; no one has ever corroborated the story. Grew up in the village, evidently angling for a smithing apprenticeship or something of the sort; was well-liked, youthful, handsome, destined for great things, or at least his pick of the village maids for a wife. Disappeared for ten years at age eighteen (went out to get a tobacco leaf, the story goes) and returned the way he is now, claiming to heal a range of diseases. Occasionally succceeded. Once broke a fever by amputating a patient's infected leg with a knife and a generous helping of anaesthesia, and mistakenly took this to be a reliable cure for fever for a few years thereafter, with mixed results.

Robert Drouve

So it would seem the wolves are indeed a little brash, one of the most inquisitive people struck down, perhaps to demoralize the rest of us.

The hair on the table, does it match the hair color of the wolves we know to still be alive?

Robert looks down at the ground solemnly, spinning the gold ring around his finger as he appeared to enter deep, troubling thoughts.

Chrissdammit Indy, what the hell were you up to in there?

I vote we search the SCIENTIST'S HOUSE. It seems to be the logical next step.

I also reluctantly vote to execute GIL'GLAR, the smith. There were flecks of rust on that ground, I saw them. Sounds like the kind of thing that could come from a smith's boots.

What size are the oddly coloured specks on the ground?

What kind of colour are they?

Do they have a distinctive smell?

Eluard

Stepping out of his guardhouse, Eluard sees the death once again and turns his nose. Wishing there was some obvious solution, he pulls his blade out in a fury

The one responsible will pay for this, that is a promise. If you dare step into my room at night and try do deal with me, I promise a slow death for you. You will not be able to escape me!

He slowly calms and puts his blade away, turning away from the group

Its quite obvious Karen couldn't do it. Simply because she was the first to vote for Nathaniel, why would she vote for someone who she was actually working for? The fact that her shack was right in front of the building where Indy is seems to be irrelevant. And last night, Indy voted for and made a decent case against Brother Bartholomew. He isn't surprised, perhaps because he know Bartholomew was a wolf, and was confirmed of that fact when he showed up. I like that story. I guess I'm not too bad at this..

Given he was a healer, and the manacles appear to have been broken out of and fur is on the table, I would guess that one of them asked him to heal them, then transformed and killed him. The question is whether that wolf was sincere and couldn't help it, or was just using it as a ruse.

Aye, me mate, they may come from me boots if I make use of rusted metal or forge rusted swords. Be assured that I'm not afflicted with this sickness. However, rust can come from a sword, especially when it is sheathed or removed from its scabbard. Or, for that matter, any weapon that has not satiated its lust for blood in a long time.

Edit: Grammer.

Yesterday, how far away from Sarah were the indentations? What was Sarah's facial expression? Did the scream end abruptly or did it fade out abruptly? Were there bruises on her shoulders or back?

Almost immediately behind her chair. She looked scared/surprised.

It ended abruptly.

There were some light bruises around her neck.

The rust found on the ground is most likely related to boots of some kind. Brian Obannion is wearing steel boots, and I don't believe we've actually heard from him in a while. I'd also like everyone to keep in mind when we searched Klaus's room the other day, there was blackmail on everyone except Brian. Not sure what this could mean, though.

We need to search the Barley Barrel, it has the highest concentration of people. I also think that the wulf was coming to Indy for help. I haven't decided on who to vote for yet, but brother Bart is a person of interest for sure.

Magda Lyndenhardt

Rubs her knotted hair as she walks in circles, half mumbling to herself

Forgive my foolish questions... The mad ramblings of a mad woman! However, even a loon like me can see what's going on here. I believe Eluard has a point: Brother Bartholomew is our next wolf.

If we assume that Mr. Leinhart was the aggressive wolf from the first day, then I believe Bartholomew is the skittish wolf who fled the scene. He's neurotic and paranoid so he ran away at the first sign of trouble. Furthermore, his occupation and relationship with God likely allows him to calm his victims before he (or another wolf) kills them - who wouldn't trust a priest? Not to mention his clear affinity for alcohol which poor Sarah was seen drinking before her death.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, is the fact that Indy seemed determined to execute Bartholomew yesterday and today he's wound up dead. As Eluard said, Indy seems like he almost expected to die and that he wasn't surprised in the least. I can only guess that in a neurotic fit of paranoia, Bartholomew approached Indy and asked to be rid of his affliction. When Indy failed to do so Bartholomew overpowered and killed him. How tragic, so tragic...

In any case, it seems clear to me that Bartholomew isn't safe to be around any longer.

Thanks for siding with me, Magda. I'll go ahead and cast my vote for Bartholomew now. I suppose now would be a good time to search the scientists house, although my suspicion of his is wearing slightly.

Ser Sigfried Scarlatti

"An appropriate fate for a quack such as himself I say. Bartholomew is definitely a suspect, seeing as his personality reflects that of the drawn back wolf. It's not unlikely that he'd visit Indy and fool him with whatever act he was playing either, seeing as he's calm and reserved. A monster that one, and should be burned at the stakes too."

"I suppose I'll cast my vote to execute Bartholomew. But of course I am a noble knight, so should this heretic prove himself innocent I will not think twice before taking back my vote."
