Werewolf: Marooned (Aftermath)

Post » Fri May 24, 2013 7:57 pm

"We must stay away from these strangers. I do not think they are of the friendly kind," said Anazar. Murmurs of agreement joined him. For once, there was little dissent among the group, though how much of that was steered by a sinister force was uncertain.

What was certain, was that Lawrence R. DeLange would meet his undoing at the hands of Sam. “Are you certain?” he said. Not seeing any indication otherwise, he shrugged, lifted Rex’s gun, and shot Lawrence. A thick trail of red blood oozed from his forehead, and he slumped forward, unchanging.

“Oh no...” whispered Aaron.

“Oh, yes,” replied Akira, an enthused grin spreading across his face as he appraised the situation. “You know, I think it’s about time I came out of the closet once again.” And with that, grey fur began overtaking his body, and the form of a macaque emerged. Opening his mouth wide, he let out a loud whoop at the huddle humans remaining in the lab. All but two, behind the others, who were quite relaxed.

“Marilyn... You know what to do!”

Marilyn once more brought out her cell phone with a stony silence, and thumbed the screen. Music filled the room.

“I’M BAAAACK!” Steve started banging his head as he transformed. “BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!” He chittered along with the tune, moving to Akira’s side.

That left only Marilyn, who briskly walked to their sides and, for the first time, both she and the group were able to witness her transform. A mottled grey and white fur grew over her clothes, and black rings formed around the eyes. Apparently, her life was well suited to a raccoon’s. “Intelligent but two-faced,” noted Sam. He raised the gun. William similarly fumbled for his hunting knife. Aaron started mumbling something about wanting poisoned coffee, and Anazar whispered a silent prayer.

They struck.

“Developing news today on the mysterious pharmaceutical conglomerates Mutata and Gentech, whose stocks have plummeted in the past few days. Rumors swirl that their boards of directors have been disappearing regularly since a series of unexplained explosions at a previously secret Mutata Inc desert facility in Morocco, where Gentech employees were sighted. Of course, we’ve only recently learned that Mutata was under a defense contract to supply a drug supposedly able to create an “undetectable” soldier. The FBI and CIA are investigating...”

No, you don’t think so. This drug’s going to remain a secret, you’ll make sure of that.

Game over - Wolf Victory

Now you darned dead people can speak again. Please offer your critiques or thoughts or reminiscences. I will return in a little bit with a summary of evidence and perhaps some awards.

Well, that was fun. Kicked ass as an innocent, then turned traitor at pretty much the last minute. Too bad this means I won't live long for the next couple of games.

Despite how it worked for me personally, this game probably should have ended a day sooner. The numbers at that point were 3 vs 5, a clear win for the wolves, and the innocents weren't active at all.

I enjoyed this game very much Mr. E. I like the way you did things where we traveled and had the protection votes, very nice.

I was right too late...

Really though decent game. Nice little spin on it, I quite enjoyed the bizarre setting and movement system.

Very good hosting, Mr. E! I had fun.

Damn, the ending was difficult. I had a feeling I was surrounded by wolves, and it didn't make it easier that so many were inactive by that time.

I was aiming to play a dynamic character, one that people would either love or hate and was unreadable.

Ultimately, I hope to have at least made things interesting.

I liked Persephone. I felt a little sorry for her when she was executed. (I had no part in it!)

Poor girl. :(

I'm glad you liked her. I know a lot of people didn't. lol

But maybe they felt sorry for her when they found out she was innocent.

We continue to have a problem with late game activity. We should figure ways to combat this

I thought there was a problem with activity from "day 1," as most people weren't commenting. If they were, it was brief. The only reason why there was any less activity was solely a result of less people playing.

We need a way to ensure more activity each day.

I knew you were innocent and I felt nothing when you died :P

It was a good game, though I'm honestly genuinely surprised that you guys executed Gorbad and not me; I was sure from the moment someone pointed out the "strange look in the Macaque's eyes" being stress that I would be nailed for being the only character who literally had "does not deal well with stress" on their profile. :hehe:
