Werewolf – Medical Marvel, Aftermath.

It seemed the group had given up hope to ever escape the bunker alive. That evening all hell broke loose…

All seven survivors had gathered in the Main Hall, together with Jeremy Taylor. They had then departed to give the final execution some serious thought and planned to return to the Main Hall in an hour. Barney Stinson (8-Bit Legend), Granny Hanson (Emberoth), Lord Bartholomew III (Erginho) and Shi-Long Lang (hircine21) gathered in Lodgings A and had a serious discussion about what to do next. Barney declared he had to pay a visit to the restrooms and left the group.

He went through the kitchens but stopped when a figure approached from the other end.

“Awesome.” The figure said with a woman’s voice, before the shape of Amanda Parker (PartyPoison) was visible. “That’s my name!” Barney replied with a big smile on his face. Amanda gave him a sly smile and approached. “I’d really love to chat, but I’ve got some unfinished business to do in the restroom, if you’ll excuse me.” Barney continued and attempted to walk past her. She held out a hand and tilted her head, holding her hand on his chest. “I don’t think so.” She said with a stone-cold voice. Barney’s heart skipped a beat at the words.
A sharp kitchen knife pierced his stomach, before pulling upwards, hitting the bottom bones of his rib-cage. He fell to his knees and Amanda slit his throat, letting him fall to the ground in a bloody mess.

Jak (dmel25) had withdrawn into the lonely elevator. He hadn’t been disturbed there a single time so far when communicating with the soul of Ray Minksy. He stood there chatting when the elevator suddenly began to move upwards. It stopped at the corridors and the door opened with a silent beep. Jackie Ansell (Rosveen) gave him a surprised smile and made a move to enter the elevator. Jak had no plans to stay in there, however, and made a similar move to leave it. Jackie rolled her eyes and kicked him in the nuts, before pushing him back inside. Poor Jak was in no shape to resist and Jackie followed, pushing the buttons to arrive at the bottom.
When the elevator reached the bottom, the mutilated corpse of Jak was thrown out of it.

Mr. Jeremy Taylor was beginning to realize that things wouldn’t turn out as the D.E.A.D corporation had expected. He had strict orders to follow, but he deemed it too risky to continue. He plugged a hidden cable to his computer in the host office and entered a couple of passwords. The wall sunk into the ground, revealing a hidden room. The gear in there would be just what he needed…

Granny Hanson (Emberoth) came to the same conclusion as Jeremy Taylor had and together with Lord Bartholomew III (Erginho) and Shi-Long Lang (hircine21) went to the bunker entrance. The sealed door stood unopened in front of them, but they tried to enter any and all passwords they could come up with. Jeremy Taylor approached the three from behind. He was wearing a white hazmat suit, a large silver canister in his left hand and his shotgun in the right hand. They could hear him breathe through the mask's ventilation.

“What the hell…” Lord Bartholomew III said. Jeremy calmly placed the canister on the ground and released the chemicals in it. Shi-Long Lang disappeared in front of their eyes for a moment, but became visible only a couple of steps further, coughing loudly and falling to his knees. Granny Hanson (Emberoth) and Lord Bartholomew III (hircine21) also fell to the ground. They probably thought he’d killed them, but he didn’t mind. They wouldn’t remember anything when they awoke anyways; a simple memory erasing chemical together with a sleeping agent, the solution to everything if you asked Dr. Jeremy Taylor.

He calmly closed the canister and began to take samples from the three sleeping subjects. It took longer than he’d thought and he was afraid they might wake up at any moment. He finished the anolysis and realized only one of them had inhuman DNA. Shi-Long Lang (hircine21) was more of a chameleon than a human, at least some of his cells. He dragged the sleeping man away from the bunker entrance and into the far end of the artificial gardens. He grabbed his shotgun and fired at the sleeping mutant, ending Shi-Long’s life.

“To eliminate your enemies, hit them in their sleep…” Dr. Taylor muttered to himself before returning to the host office with the canister. He still had four subjects to anolyze before he was ready to open the sealed bunker door, or so he thought.

He entered the office and found the hidden room’s door unlocked. He opened the canister and let the chemicals fill the area, approaching in his hazmat suit, shotgun in both hands. He couldn’t see anyone, and the thickening cloud of gas didn’t help. Amanda Parker (PartyPoison) was around the corner in the room, dressed in a matching hazmat suit as Dr. Taylor.

“Oh hello there Mr. Taylor! Or should I say, Doctor?” She said with a spooky echoing sound through the suit. Jeremy realized she’d read the files on the computer in here and most certainly possessed the password to the sealed door. Without a word, Dr. Jeremy Taylor aimed his shotgun at the woman. A loud crash destroyed his mask before he had the chance to fire. The impact made him pull the trigger, missing Amanda by mere inches. The sharp object Jackie Ansell had smashed through his visor cut Jeremy in the face and he let out a scream of pain and confusion. He soon fell to his knees, coughing.

Jackie approached smiling, she too dressed in a hazmat suit, picked up his shotgun and fired.

It had been a while since the chemical attack on Lord Bartholomew III (Erginho) and Granny Hanson (Emberoth). The two of them began to wake up and breathe fresh air without gas filling their lungs. They looked around in confusion, trying to remember who they were and what they did here. Amanda and Jackie approached the bunker entrance and heard voices up ahead. Not knowing what to expect, they transformed and rushed in.

The two innocents died before they knew what hit him, their blood coloring the walls of the bunker red. The two wolves turned back to humans, smiling at the quick kill. They entered the password,
“levraM lacideM” and the large sealed door opened silently, releasing two inhuman beasts into the quiet night...

Starting Friday of last week I got completely swamped at work. I couldn't be as active as I would have liked. I apologize for any inconvenience it caused. :(

I was surprised that the wolves managed to pin me as one of the angels. Fighters and I had our little circle of protection thing going, figured we were pretty much set.

It also wasn't entirely clear to me, was I the murder target on the day we executed North (I think)? I was attacked during the execution scene and there wasn't a murder the next day.

It's all good, at least you did participate some, the only bad thing was it made it hard to tell if you were a werewolf or not.

Yeah, you were.
Okay, I figured as much, but wasn't sure if it was just Gorbad dropping hints that I was bonded.

The wolves guesses every single day "angel" as their targets role  Except the first time you were targeted, that's the only time they guessed something else (sneak), which is funny because the arch changed the vote from Mr. E who was the sneak, to you. Also, when the arch wanted Mr. E killed, he guessed "angel" :lmao:

But yeah, you were the murder target and it was changed into a angel protection sequence, in addition to a hint that you were bonded with that nod the angel gave you.

That day hircine21 searched Fighters, so I made the story PM be him being invisible a bit away, seeing Fighters transform into the angel that fought Wyatt.

Something I wanted to do the entire games time happened the day when Mr. E was killed. Mr. E and hircine21 searched each-other, so I posted a nearly identical story PM to both where their characters walked into each other while both were invisible. :P Sadly, Mr. E then died in the write-up a mere minute later.

Okay, time to put the host in the hotseat.

The Good:

Pretty much everything, really. Your write-ups were concise, cohesive, and entertaining. You were very consistent about day end and new day times. You had no major organizational mistakes (at least, none that I caught you on :P); you even managed to keep the dead list and the player list updated (easy details that are easy to lose track of).

The Bad:

Your evidence was very heavy-handed. In most cases, it was one or two clues that brought each wolf down, and since most of your clues were ones that narrowed the suspect pool, there was very little room for the wolves to argue.

Overall, a very good showing from a first time host. Just work on evidence balance (if Ratwar or Woolly come out of nowhere to host, pay very close attention to how they do this), and your next game should be excellent.

Wait, what? You can guess and there's no penalty for guessing wrong? I thought the point of the successful guess = guaranteed kill rule was to act as disincentive for role reveals. Like if I were to be all, "Dudes don't kill me, I'm an angel," I'd be putting myself at risk of a guaranteed wolf attack.

There was an additional rule for role-revealing, which made you lose protection even if you tried to pull a false role-reveal.

The guessing of the roles was a tiny detail with a very small chance to succeed. I countered this by adding a secret number of roles and made it impossible to guess "innocent". In addition, I put in three angels in a 21 person game.

Thanks for the positive and constructive feedback :) I do agree 100% with the evidence problem. Something I will most certainly look into when I host again sometimes in the far future.

It just seems like a way to bypass angel protections without any downside. I mean, if guessing incorrectly doesn't matter, then there's no reason to ever not guess. It becomes a game of chance rather than skill.

Being as there are four role types---Angel, Sneak, Matchmaker, Gravedigger---there's a 25 percent chance of bypassing angel protection on any of these roles. And realistically, the matchmaker and gravedigger are not especially threatening roles to the wolves. So the majority of guesses will be for Angels or Sneaks. So if you happen to be one of those roles, you have a roughly 50 percent chance of being murdered even if you have angel protection. Not because the wolves successfully uncovered your role, but because they happened to throw in a guess.

I'll gladly join in future Werewolf threads.

Well this was fun R.I.P. Granny Hanson.
Gorbad was [censored] at investigating crime scenes though :P
No, but it was fun, well hosted etc. I liked it and Werewolf is something I will probably play in the future.

Yes, there's a 25% chance to guess the role of someone who does has a role. And yes, if they always say sneak and angel and happen to come across one of those, then it'll be a 50% to bypass protection. I limited the angels power quite a lot in this game, but instead had three of them instead of two. No-one suggested a punishment for guessing wrong in the sign-up when I created the game and I didn't think of adding it either, so it never got added to the game.

There is no penalty because the rule was implemented in a time when one angel was common, iirc, so there was no point in guessing angel at all. Still, I don't think it is a big deal, since the guess only matters if the person in question is being protected anyway, so the the alignment of the wolves targetting an angel protected by another angel is probably rare.
