Wet clothes, washable weapons?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 7:59 pm

Hello! I haven't gotten Skyrim yet, do fur- or cotton clothes get wet and then dry off? Do bloody swords lose their blood after a rinse in a lake?
If not, are there any mods for that? I've not found any mod or thread about it yet.

I remember playing http://www.runegame.com/images/wallpaper/swordfight1600.jpg, and in that game the blood textures on the body and weapon rinsed off after running through a river. If they could do it eleven years ago, you'd think it would be possible in 2011? I had hoped it would be as common a feature as retrievable arrows by now. If you can handle gradual vampirization of face and morphable lycanthropy, surely some wet clothes and washable blades should be within the game's power?

Does anyone know of any mods or W.I.Ps dealing with this?

Thank you!

Once CK arrives, I expect that radically reducing decal lifetime when underwater will be easy.

Of course the easy approach will probably have side effects (like making arrows stuck in the side of the fort disappear), but that kind of detail is probably no big deal.

Thanks for the response! What's CK, and who decides when it arrives?

It's strange, I really didn't think wet clothes would be no big deal to implement, if you cast a fire spell at someone they're engulfed in flame sprites for x seconds, why can't a dip in the water result in slow-moving "wet"-sprites gliding off you for ten seconds after leaving a body of water? It doesn't even have to be noisy, just fading slowly starting from head and fading down to toes, so you can feel just the least bit of realism from getting wet. I'm not criticizing the community, quite the opposite, I'm trying to motivate!

We still need more motivation if you want us to take arms, raid Bethesda's offices and force them at gunpoint to release the Construction Kit. We have no proper modding tools yet, all we have are some tools that were originally built for Oblivion or Fallout3 and can be used for some low level hacking in the Skyrim files.

Sweet.
I wonder to which extent Bethesda deliberately leaves out features, counting on the users to create and spread them themselves? If I had CK-skills, I'd make shavable beards, polishable weapons (with temporary dam-bonus for being sharp) and arrow trails, with trail intensity slider.
