What are the best spears in Morrowind.

Post » Mon Aug 10, 2009 3:54 pm

I love spears and they are some of my favorite weapons to use. But there are not many great around around and the really good ones are only available far along quests (like the one the Temple gives you in Tribunal and Hircines Spear in Blood moon). What are some good spears to get that don't require getting far in quests?

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Spears
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Unique_Weapons#Spear - some of these can be found, as they don't belong to any quest. Illkurok is my favourite.
There's also the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Weapon_Artifacts#Spears, but it's not that easy to get.

The expansions add a few new spears also, but the good ones require a lot of work to get.

This may not be news to you but the Daedric spear is pretty good and you can get one very early through the Visser-didinat quest or in the lower level of Berandus.

A spear is only as good as your spear skill.

But I like the dwarven spear or Halberd.. or the ebony spear for its length.

You must mean the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Vassir-Didanat_Cave and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Dram_Bero will reward you with one http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Daedric_Weapons#Weapons that you choose. :whistling:

No, that has nothing to do with http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Berandas at all. :)

Yes, my spelling is bad. :)
As to Berandus, there is another one there, not related to the quest.

My favorite every day weapon is the Glass Halberd. It's light (4.5) and powerful. Any thing more than this, like the Spear of Bitter Mercy; is just a collector's item to me.
I also just use a Chitin Spear or Iron Halberd when I want a battle with lower level NPC's, like Ashlanders, and most creatures, to last longer.
However, the House of Spears mod has a nice little variety of goodies I like as well.
I usually have Spear as a major skill.

P.S. You can get a glass halberd at level 1....in Tel Branora....there's a trick though. You may think it's cheating.

I'm quite fond of Illkurok, which has both a Night Eye enchantment and Fortify Spear. Quite handy for exploring ruins. There's also a very nice halberd with a Shock enchantment, Stormforger(?) that's wielded by an opponent in one of the old strongholds (Andraseth?).

I am glad I didn't know this when I went and got it at level 12! The Amulet of Shadows helped with the battles to speak with the Sheogorath. For the final quest battle I weakened it with some shots from my bow, and then drank all three shield potions given to me by Ajira for those early mages guild quests, and then finished it off. Easy peasy, for the most part.
