What are you hoping for in 1.8?

Post » Sun Aug 26, 2012 2:12 am

Assuming 1.8 will be another feature patch like 1.6, of course.

I'm hoping for goblins, as you can never have too many different types of monsters to kill. But if that's too much for a patch, I'd be delighted to have seasonal foliage.

I prefer bug fixes. And especially a fix for the blocky and flickering shadows in ps3.

But, spears and more optimizations is not a bad idea either.

Dawnguard fixes, both gameplay and CTD's. The gods know it NEEDS it.

All platforms have blocky/flickering shadows by default. The only fix I managed to get for that was ENB + a good profile.

How about a patch that doesn't add a single new failure? Cause lets face it they svck which is why they were cut origionally.
How about a patch that actually does what it claimes it does?
Parity on all systems.

No more lies from the devlopment team.

Oh, I did not knew.
Anyway, isn't Bethesda able to improve/fix it?

That's even more true with CK users...first the navmesh bug, then it got fixed and at the same time the dialogue bug was introduced...not to talk about the complete mess Dawnguard is.

Maybe because they can't fix it. Or to be more precise, it's the maximum shadow resolution that today' consoles can move.

That's the only explanation, as shadow resolution itself and some anti-flickering options can be easily tweaked in the game .ini. It makes shadows smoother, although I still prefer ENB' ones by far.

Well the new cams are as good as the old ones, for a new feature I can see having the option to disable them for those that don't like them.
Horse back combat was hard to use at first but I must say I've become very good at shooting down wolfs, bears and spiders. I've done sword combat with it a few times, normally just one enemy that was too close to do hit and runs with my bow. Would be nice to be able to use magic while riding, given that that is my Mages main mode of transportation.

Spears! Give us spears!

Otherwise, I like the idea of lightning strikes or other little details. SSAO might be a good thing for us PC players and I wouldn't imagine it would lead to any technical problems; it's literally just placing a box around the areas with SSAO.

Odd, I haven't encountered many bugs with Dawnguard. I did encounter one where every vampire in the castle turned hostile and attacked me. I worked out that it was caused by me having a bounty in Hjaalmarch (probably a similar issue with that Farkas bug).

Non-human children, spell combos like in the Gamejam vid, crowd control ball and chain like http://thevikingweaponsstore.com/images/Triple_Ball_Medieval_Flail.jpg, and destruction magic leveling with the player since they've nerfed bow damage.

Just today I found a critical bug that would have avoided me from completing the MQ if I weren't on PC. I had to use console commands to go thought it. So if you hadn't any bug at all, you're one of the lucky few.

Bug fixes! Stop adding content when there's plenty of bugs.

Not game breaking bugs, but irritating bugs. Fix all the weapons that can't be tempered, fix quest problems such as the master restoration quest (doesn't allow you to buy the guardian circle spell) and patch those ridiculous exploits.

Small perk changes aswell, like the one/two handed perks for individual weapons, make them worth having. Sort out the dam destruction cost, it's ridiculous that I have to use gear to use a skill at high levels.

I agree with mounted magic, allthough it may be an issue with things such as flames. I wouldn't want to accidentally cremate my horse.

Honestly, I just want it to not break everything, but what I really want is more books from past games so that I can hoard even more things in my Dragonborn's library. Oh, and I'd love it if they fixed the glitch where Marcurio loses his unique follow dialogue after marriage. I feel like I've broken his spirit or something.
