What armour suits a Khajiit?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:55 pm

I made a thread yesterday asking about what makes archery appealing. I'm trying archery on a new build now. A Khajiit who only uses archery and his own claws. Also alchemy since he is an expert on herbs and is an ex skooma dealer.

What sort of armour should he be clad with? Are Khajiit against fur type light armour Should I be going around naked and use only mage armour? Seems more natural but I'm not sure I want this character to use any magic.

Well, appearance-wise, J'derras looks pretty good in Scaled Armor and Leather Armor.

I actually prefer the glass armor over dragon scale or any of the other light armors for my khajiit archer but thats just my opinion

Do they have Catnip Armor in the game?

OK, seriously, I have seen Khajiit NPCs in all materials, so Lore wise, there is no answer. But, Felines being what they are (fur covered slinky's), I would imagine the more flexible armor would be more in keeping with their physiology.

I think none of them are that great. leather armor is the probably best or maybe some fur bits. I've not actually got it yet myself but I'm expecting the Thieves Guild armor will be the armor for a Khjaiit.

I'd like to see an racial armor specially for the Khajiit based on something like Rajput armor. The Khajiit traders could bring it with them all the way from Elsweyr.

My personal preference is fur and hide for appearance, but my Khajiit has compromised by wearing scale because you cannot smith fur and hide to near the levels of scale without using the enchant/smith/alchemy loop, which I refuse to do. I could get much more protection with glass but personally don't like the way it looks on a Khajiit, so I have stopped at scale. Eventually when my smithing is high enough I may see how Dragon looks but that is a long way off.

Mine wears Whiterun Guard armor improved with smithing and I haven't come across anything that I like better so far. It just fits my character perfectly.

But doesn't M'aiq say fur armour makes him uncomfortable? Thoughts on Wolf armour?

I was also thinking. What if I just do boots gauntlets and helmet? Leaving the chest bare.

You might get comments from the NPCs about being naked. Not sure if you have to be completely unclothed, or if it is even remarked upon in this game.

Either naked or robes. Khajits have been gifted with a nice, thick, warm fur. No sense in covering it up.

My khajiit wears either a hammerfall garb or the archmage robes, they fit him very well.
But armour wise I think Saviour's Hide, Stormcloak Officer or Ancient Nord work best with khajiit.
They're protective, have some fur and leather, which cats love. Also they look nice on khajiit.

Ah I forgot about Saviour's Hide. That will be a good one. I guess I'm off to Falkreath and Riften then.

I've been using Thieves Guild armor, which I think looks great on a sneaky Khajiit.
As for weapons, I've been switching between duel wielding two scimitars and using a glass bow.

Savior's HIde is always a good choice. And JazzJR's Meow likes the heavier armors. The thigh-baring aspect of that armor is mitigated by Khajiit fur.

Khajiit look good in everything, including Nothing At All.

When I think of a Khajiit I think of fur, leather or robes. Something light.
