What besthesda should of done with the map.

The map is one thing most people do not like. I don't mind it all. Actually I like it but it doesn't zoom in close enough. Some say they should have done a 2D map. Well I have a good idea. There is a quest called break of dawn. If your familiar with it you will know what I mean. When you gay raised up if you look down its seem that should have been the cut off point of zooming for the map. It's close enough to see the roads, it actually very well detailed. I feel if the close ups on the map would have looked like that then people would of been more pleased. You can actually navigate if it was like that.

Tell me what you think.

Luckily I'm on PC. If you're on PC you can change your .ini to zoom right into the map. It's great for finding trails you can't see with the normal settings. I feel sorry for folks on console. Before I changed my map settings I had a very hard time finding roads.

No, they should just patch in a road overlay and hold borders overlay.

If you're on PC there's a great mod that allows for much better map interactivity and viewing over at the nexus: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=272

The mod removes the clouds and allows for greater rotation and zooming.

Yeah, just an overlay would be nice, path finding is impossible with the current map. Unless you have a horse which basically says "LOLZ PHYSICS? WHAT'S THAT?"

Can't wait, cause I'm switching over to pc! For many reasons, and this just added one more.

Cheers

This is a fantastic combination. The mod for better maps does wonders, but the ability to actually SEE road outlines and such would be nice.

tbh I haven't had a issue with the map, if anything it promotes exploration. Are people saying they had trouble with the Morrowind map as well?

I took the clouds off with just a simple ini tweak, not even a proper mod.

Still, I'd rather have my trusty paper map dood.

I'd rather see highlighted roads than being able to easily find secret areas.

The map is fine for me, like another dude said, it promotes exploration and I don't like everything spelled out for me, leave a bit of mystery, make it a challenge.
