what book(s) are you reading?

I for one love books, I can read through a 400 page book in an afternoon...

I just finished reading the entire "Shannara" series by Terry Brooks, a sadly under-rated fantasy series that IMO has great lore and a universe to rival that of Tolkiens himself. I liked how most story arcs were broken up into its own trilogy,
the reading order can be a little confusing at first because he didn't write them all in a Linear order (example: while First King of Shannara is at the beginning of the timeline, it was not written until after the Original Trilogy)

I am now brushing up on my Japanese as I ordered the first three volumes of the Sword Art Online Novels from Japan...

What books have you read lately? were they good, or bad? were they satisfying, or did they leave you craving for more?

fellow book readers, unite!

A Song of Ice and Fire series.. otherwise known as the Game of Thrones series. HBO has a series on it.

IMO the best book series out there next to The Lord of the Rings.

You might try the Joe Abercrombie trilogy starting with "Before they are hanged".

Beyond Good and Evil. Pretty interesting, if sometimes hard to follow.

I've been in a classic story tale mood lately and reading stuff like The Odyssey, Epic of Gilgamesh and One Thousand and One Nights.

I'm making my way through The Infernal City when I can--been doing that for nearly two years now. Then a few others and Education for the Intercultural Experience.

The Alexiad, which I have been reading in small bits since February (or earlier, I don't remember). Absolutely fantastic book.

And tomorrow I start reading a hundred years old book called "The Religion of Finnish Poetry", which sheds light on ancient paganism of my people.
