What bugs should Bethesda focus on?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 1:13 am

Just wondering what you guys think are the highest priority bugs Bethesda should focus on fixing.

So far I've only experience the
Spoiler
Staff of Magnus quest bug where the ghosts just stand around and say nothing thoughout the dungeon and it was quite frustrating. I'm not sure if they were supposed to help me defeat Magnus or not, but he was a [censored] to beat by myself.

Also I really hope they fix the random low res textures that show up in the inventory screen. Its very distracting for me.

A few other immersion ruining bugs I want fixed ASAP

When following a quest related NPC and they run off the path for 5-10 seconds only to run all the way back to the path.

When following a quest related NPC and getting to close to them so they stop ask what you want.

When talking/listening to a quest realted NPC and other NPCs start talking to you about something pointless.

Right now... Broken resists after the 1.2 patch followed closely by all the quest bugs and from what I have seen there are lots of them.

They should work more on the fps stuff, and they should look into possibly adding an option to abandon or restart a quest. That would at least make it possible for people to retry quests that bug out and try to work around the broken part.

They're not suppose to help you but you can hear them talk if you're close enough to them.

And I've had no quest bugs thankfully, just atrocious lag and texture inconsistencies.

My main complaint is the lag, even after the patch (if you can even consider it one) after a couple hours it starts to stutter again.

I'm not usually the one to complain but I have a few questions.

How am I suppose to travel and discover the open world when I can't even move?

Why do I still have to restart the game every 2 hours just so I can play it?

Why do I have to turn off autosave so i can feel at eaze?

Why do I have to save every 20 mins because I'm afraid the game might freeze?

Why am I afraid to start a new character because I don't want my previous saves to get corrupted?

Why am I considering on buying a new hard drive that cost more then my ps3 just so I can play the game the way it was suppose to be played?

The list goes on.

I tried, they wouldn't speak. They would just stare at me everywhere I saw them.

So far I haven't experienced the lag bug to your extent. It was starting to get bad around 6.5mb save file size, but the patch made it better, though I really haven't put much more time in.

They need to fix the main quest line bug. After completing the quest "Diplomatic Immunity" it seems like the main story line came on a halt and can't find my way past this bug. Nothing is showing up about the next quest nor did it trigger in the process and that quest is "A Cornered Rat" about Esbern. The fact that there are bugs in the main quests that doesn't allow you to progress baffles me the most. Looking at most of these threads i am not surprised anyway.

Just the framerate. It's still laggy and only temporarily fixed the problem.

It'll probably sound crazy, but I think they should fix Lydia so she can be married as intended. It seems to me like a tiny, quick fix. Insignificant in time needed to be repaired.

I'm not saying it should be the only fix, though. Just saying small hiccups can be fixed on the side.

The major bug that needs to be fixed, IMO, is the resistances problem.

Some quests are bugged.

That's about it off the top of my head.

Dissapearing landscapes virtually un-journeyable.

To be honest, this weapon switch delaying bug is bugging me the most at the moment. I'm not that far in the game yet. It's just freaking annoying to wait until the weapons and shield come back while a dragons fries my bum.

I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the Dragons. The only thing I think they actually FIXED would be the Dragons. Because, if you think about it, there really aren't that many dragons in Skyrim. What I'm getting at is, there is bound to be some inbreeding. I saw a Dragon flying backwards, running into mountains and sleeping with its head inside a building and thought, "I see what you're doing there, Bethesda... genius! Due to the sparse population of Dragons, there will be plenty of inbreeding; So there is bound to be a rather large community of re-tarded Dragons.". Now for all the other faults in the game I really can't back them. Also, if you want to complain that Dragons aren't giving you their souls when they die, that's probably because you killed a re-tarded one. And retards, as we all know, don't have souls.

In my opinion, their priority should be in this order:

1. Quest bugs
2. Textures
3. Shadows
4. 'funny' glitches

This is assuming the framerate problem has been resolved, but otherwise the framerate should be their number one priority.

I think enable console commands also on PS3 (but i don't know if this can be done) will make an expert user capable of resolve most of the quest bugs. I would be quiet satisfied only with this.

That would be so awesome, the community would fix every bug in a week or two and keep everyone updated constantly on their progress.

i have a topic made where im trying to list all the bugs and glitches that are present after the patch.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1297644-reply-to-update-on-the-skyrim-12-patch/

if you want to go there and report your encounters, id greatly appriceate it. i dont want to write down every bug glitch i see and not have a source for it even if i read it on other forums here.. otherwise it doesnt feel legit.
