So what changed? (confused)

Todd Howard has said multiplayer is something Bethesda regularly considers, and always shelves. We always look into multiplayer, put lots of ideas on the whiteboard, and it always loses. It’s not that we don’t like it. I can think of ways it would be a lot of fun, but at the end of the day, that dev time is going to take away from doing the best single player game we can, and that’s where our hearts are.

With that statement alone and with the announcement of TES Online does that mean that they are not as focused on single player games in the future? I mean that's the only logical rational that I can get from his statement.

I'm really confused

Nothing has changed.

TESO is being made by Zenimax Online Studios, not Bethesda.

The Elder Scrolls Online is NOT being developed by Todd and Bethesda Game Studios. It's being developed by an entirely different team, Zenimax Online Studios.

I just don't want anything to take away from a game I'm highly anticipating and hoping for the future which is Fallout 4. I would hate to see a possiblity for that game be shelved for years because resources were used on something they said they consider but never pans out. Thanks for the reply

Ah I see, thank you both for the replies. I understand

We have a few threads explaining the differences between the Bethesda and Zenimax Online. Since this thread has served it's purpose, I will close it.
