What is considered Rich in Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jul 25, 2012 7:03 am

I was recently pondering a bit over this while selling off armour I crafted.

I have about 50.000 gold now. Would that make the people of skyrim regard me as a rich person?

Think about it, how much money does Maven Black-Briar have for example? Does the value of a dollar in our world more or less equal the value of one Septim to them?

It's hard to tell. Considering that the only really expensive things in the game are training and houses, and if you don't use either of those, 50k is more than enough. I'd aim for the 100 k though

I'd assume over 200 thousand gold is considered rich in Skyrim's culture. How else would the Black Briars have so many connections and a business at the same time?

well in order to be rich like her lol you must own every merchant, have every player house, oh yeah and have over 1,000,000 gold that's how rich you should be in Skyrim lol

Would have to say 100,000+. After all, you do get an achievement for doing it.

Well in regards to in-game dialogue and the actual value of gold, 50,000 is more than enough to be considered rich.

One gold piece is incredibly more valuable than an American dollar.

Player wise?
Infinity.
Lore wise?
I'd say 150-250k

Money: 2,567,000 gold

Houses 4: Proudspire, Hjerim, Vinder hall (incorrect spelling for last 2)
Spoiler
Castle Volkihar

Horses owned: Frost, Shadowmere, Whiterun
Spoiler
arvak
(Frost is dead, and I never use the Whiterun one)

Below I will list the things I collected so when the patch the gold glitch I can sell them and make money

gems: 129

gold bars/ore: 43

pieces of jewelry: 56

I believe I can be considered noble in Skyrim. Also if someone had all this in real life, like 2 million gold coins, that would be in perfect condition, high grade gold among the other things I listed there networth would be 70 billion dollars. Yes I had free time on my hands and did the conversions.

A miner asked me to tell an Orc to stop bullying him. When I did as he asked, he rewarded me with 1000 gold, which he said was a week's wages. If that is how much a miner makes in a week, I fail to recognise what warrants being named rich.

I'm level 23 and I only have about 16K, but I seem to always be able to buy just about whatever I want...

I think you'd be considered the most amazing self made man or woman ever in Skyrim. Or your money would bring the beggars to da yard!

interesting notion here. that might help us understand the true value of septims. the question is, is being a miner a well paid job in skyrim?

Well if you can afford every house in the game, you are for sure rich.

But is that reward money leveled? And does Bethesda take the time to think currency out (or do they claim that their games will have a working, interactive economy, and then take that out :stare: )?

The only way people get super duper rich in Skyrim like myself, is with exploits, and hacks, I used exploits. So if you want to join the club start making bank.

So much so that in America we might be going back to gold pieces pretty soon, economy and all.
