What could an Orc have done for being despised by Malacath?

Post » Mon Aug 20, 2012 7:19 am

I'm starting a new Orc character [first time I'm playing with an Orc] and for the sake of RP I'd wish to make him more lore friendly as possible. What could he have done to disappoint Malacath and being banned from his stronghold, and what should he do to repent? I'm a complete ignorant on Orcs.

Being a little B**ch usually makes him pretty angry...

Well, there are many reasons why an Orc would be traveling abroad, it wouldn't have to be that he/she was exiled from a stronghold.

But, perhaps the most obvious example I could think of for a reason to be exiled would be that he challenged his father (the chief) to a duel to the death, (as is customary for the title to be passed along) and lost, but ran, as opposed to accepting his fate, or perhaps poisoning or killing an opponent in his sleep, rather than challenging that opponent to an honorable duel.

My Orc, (a female) was traveling into Skyrim for adventure, as she'd left her home for adventure, and to add some glory to her name.

Oh, and as for winning Malacath's favor, you could always do the quest where you become his champion.

Is there a quest where you become champion of Malacath? I didn't know that. I'll put your suggestions to good use, thanks.

There are many possibilities: brushing your teeth, changing your underwear, using words of more than one syllable, learning to read, eating with utensils, bathing regularly, and so forth.

A clan leader fell into disfavor for being a lazy ass. You can also read these books to get an idea
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/code-malacath - An adventurer/sellsword's guide to orc strongholds
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/orsinium-and-orcs - How the orcs won parts of Wayrest
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/true-nature-orcs - A book that shows they're not pig beasts who eat babies.
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/16-accords-madness-v-vii - This orsimer here earned the disfavor of Malacath

These too.

Also, males that are too unruly to the current Chief are often sent into exile, or just simply leave for a better shot at life.

Yeah, there's a stronghold near Riften where you get a quest from Malacath. You need to be level 9 to start it though.

Your orc could have run away from a battle the other Orcs were fighting in. Malacath hates cowards.

Do I have to sharpen my front teeth at the grindforge as well?

Oh, that one with the giant attacking the stronghold, it went completely out of my mind.

Your Orc could come from the Wrothgarian Mountains in Orsinium instead of from a Stronghold in Skyrim.

Your character's backstory doesn't necessarily have to be tied to Orc communities at all. Your character
could come from a wealthy family in Cyrodiil, like the Orc noble in Oblivion, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Lord_Rugdumph_gro-Shurgak.
And don't forget about the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Lurbuk in Morthal, or the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Urag_gro-Shub in the Arcaneum or the
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Bugak_gro-Bol in Leyawiin in Cyrodiil.
Orcs don't have to be brutish, hammer wielding, honour seeking, battle eager, blood thirsty, marauding warrior -
they can be nice, fearful, civilized and accomodating aswell.
