What did YOU do with Benny?

Post » Mon Dec 06, 2010 1:55 pm

Character 1: Convinced him to meet me in the suite, then .357 to the head.

Character 2: He fled to The Fort, I shoot up the entire place with Boone, and let Benny go. (I'm not letting anyone just stay there, no matter what they've done.)

Character 3: Fled to The Fort, I got the chip from Caesar and left him in Caesar's tent (Didn't kill anyone on this playthrough)

Character 4: Confronted in his Suite, Veronica Powerfist-ed him while I was reloading my laser pistol, head exploded.

Character 5: Confronted in his Suite, .44 Magnum to the head

Character 6: Still deciding, just reached The Strip.

My character seduced him, slept with him, and then at Caesar's even praised his nightly performance and told him she would let him escape... But at the last moment killed him with the Machete.

Regretted it a bit. After all, without Benny she would still be an unimportant courier - the headshot and roaring rampage of revenge made her the most important character in Mojave desert. But considering that Benny didn't shoot her as an act of charity, he had to go.

Even I, vanguard of the traditionalist Enclave, felt a little sad about Benny, just my bias because I like him and liked Chandler best on Friends, so machetes at 20 paces it was; even a mass murdering, sadistic Enclave bastard like me has a little honour occasionally.

My character tries to see the good in everyone, and can be overly trusting. I met Benny in his private room; just me, Arcade, ED-E and Benny. Benny and I had a good conversation and I thought, "Yeah, he shot me in the head and left me to die, but he kind of makes some good points." So I told him I'd think about what he said and meet him downstairs. I barely had time to turn my head before four goons burst through the door and started shooting. I wasn't so quick on the draw with my concealed .22, but luckily Arcade starting bashing in brains with a pool cue he appropriated form Benny's table while I fumbled with my weapon.

After killing the goons, I discovered that Benny had ran off to the Fort. I made my way up there, activated the Securitrons with the chip, lied to Caesar's face about what I did, and then chopped Benny's head off with a machete while he knelt at my feet. I was feeling pretty angry because I had been tricked by him, so I was pretty brutal.

Cruxifiction. Takes days to die. Why mess with the classics?

Killed him in the Arena, left him lying there with a Sunset Sarsaparilla Deputy Badge pinned to his T-shirt......so Lanius would know who walked in one day and massacred everyone in the Fort, leaving a identical badge with every corpse. "The Legend of the Star", heh heh

Now I just say "From. MY. Cold. Dead. Hands." to the greater / bouncer.

Same.
I was all nervous about what to do on my first playthrough.
But really the easiest and quickest solution is to go in with all weapons blazing. Assuming you aren't like level three.

Crusified, fashionable, classic and it takes days to die

I like to imagine my character used the time wisely and had the lower area of Benny removed and fed to a male slave/offered to Aurelius, and nicely sewn up to make sure he doesn't bleed to death. Next I had a tent set up in front of the cross, with a few slavegirls bringing me nice refreshing drinks and what not, gloating while he's tied (not nailed, too quick you know) to his cross.

Some things just don't go out of style, do they?

Never knew you could get to Yes-Man first. Have to try that next time.

First time through I believed him when he said he could get away. Ha! He never got out of the tent.

Second time I let him try helping me. Needless to say he didn't make it.

Third time I just killed everybody int he camp and then let him go.

I don't believe in summary punishment. Maybe next time.

First play threw all everyone said about the man was how smooth a talker he was. I walked toward the back of Tops, and there he was. No hiding... no puzzle to solve just Benny... the man I been chasing for ages standing there like he had no care.

I went to draw my silenced 22 knowing this was going to be a hard fight, but I could not let the man say anything to me, or else I would second guess myself. When besides my trusty 22 I found I had also sneaked in my sawed off shotgun... One shot to his head, and his limp body hit the floor... Boone, and Rex took out a guard. Quickly grabbing the SMG the guard dropped the boys, and I exited Tops in style!

During my Legion run I noticed when they took all my weapons they left me my mines... I dropped around twenty mines in the middle of the arena. Benny seen me, and charged... pity for him he did not notice the mines. Pity for me I could never find his corpse...

I believe in Karma although I didn't know how it would go down this time with Benny. I let him leave the suite at the Tops and the Chairmen came in. My companions dealt with them. Then later, when we went to the Fort and dealt with Caesar, I went into the tent and Benny was kneeling there, all tied up. We talked and then I just untied him. He ran out of the tent with Caesar's dogs nipping at his heels and growling. I guess they don't like weasels. I followed them and watched as Benny was killed by the Legion dogs.

Oh, I almost forgot...I have the Animal Friend perk...both levels. :) Karma rules.

1st time (Before the 2nd patch) (The Unique Way That Maybe Nobody Has Done Exactly This Way): Met him at the corner and he gave me 250 caps and directed me to the Presidential Suite. I survived the assault and went to Cottonwood Cove after Benny escaped and mistakenly took Boone with me and ignored his warning and he killed any Legion he saw and I traveled to Fortification Hill and killed every Legion I saw and grabbed the 12.7mm SMG and went in Caesar's Tent (I was level 10) and did the unexpected and used chems and pulled out my Assault Carbine and pwned the Praetorians and Caesar himself with the help of Boone and saw Benny, on his knees, tied up, like I was at the beginning of the game. So I pulled out my 44. Magnum and shot him the same way he shot me.

2nd time (Before the 2nd patch): I shot every Chairman in the Tops including Benny.

3rd time (Before the 2nd patch): (Speeched Swank and) Told him to go to the Suite with me and when he was in the suite, I cowboy repeater'd him in the face.

4th time (Before the 2nd patch): Let him escape and crucified him, after I saw him on the cross, I shot him for insulting me. Teaches him.

5th time (Before the 2nd patch): Gathered evidence and speeched Swank and killed him in his suite on the 13th floor.

6th time (After the 2nd patch): Same as 5th time

7th time (After the 2nd patch): Same as 5th time, but I used a silenced 10mm and :disguise: Sneak Attack Critical on Benny. Then I put him in his bathtub and put and empty syringe on his inventory. Then I put on a recruit helmet and his suit with Maria on my holster and went out to the strip.

Has anybody... y'know, saved him before? He may have shot me in the face, but I like his fink-less ways. Dig?

I tried before, but I only managed to knock down a few Praetorian bastards.

I sixed him up the first time. The dialogue was freaking hilarious! And then I killed him. I decided to let him go after that and see what happens. I wasn't able to get him out of getting killed though, no lockpicks or stealthboys

Presidential Suite. 9mm, two to the head. Body in bathtub, intact head in toilet, looking up. 'There's the high roller'. Happy Swank.

That was the last time. I've killed him, saved him, done everything but Black Widow him. Just once I actually got into the vault below his hotel room. Wish I could remember how.

I did try one time to save him (rather let him go) and that does not work out very well. At all.

I only took him out once (beat him to death in the Arena) at the Fort. Since then I get Swank to suspect Benny, then I have at least one casino on the strip where I don't have to remap my weapon hotkeys each time I leave. After that, it all depends on just where I want to do this and how much I want to hear from Benny before I do it. But, he is getting shot, with something, by me.

If the game made it easier to save him, I would do that. Only to hunt him down later when he thinks he is safe........

if you do actually save him, he disappears from the game. He even tells you that you'll never see or hear from him again. And you don't :shakehead:

I need to know: is there even a way to save Benny? Even if I give him a Stealth Boy, the whole of the Legion still attacks my courier like a pack of rabid dogs.

Is there a way to save him without the Legion turning hostile? And once he escapes with the Stealth Boy, do I find him outside the Legion's headquarters to at least give me a goodbye speech?

I really think the only way to not have the Legion attack you when you let Benny go is to kill all of them on your way up to Casear's tent.

Playing with my Tank character, i took the direct approach: Got into Tops, refused to disarm, ran to Benny and unloaded 10mm SMG clip on him, grabbed Maria and his suite key, ran to the suite and his room and blew up the Chairmen that followed with a grenade launcher. Once the dust and body parts landed, there were atleast ten dead Chairmen in the room, exp gain was 143 points :lmao:
