Dishonored is a stealth/action game and yes, you can play it on your PS3. Dishonored it's for PC, PS3 and XBOX360.

What's it like? Would you recommend it for someone who played oblivion and liked it.

It's not really anything like Oblivion, aside from being first person and having melee and magic. Dishonored is an immersive sim in the tradition of Thief and Deus Ex, but set in a steampunk(ish) world. It's not open world, but the levels will offer a large degree of freedom. You can choose stealth, melee, magic or any combination of them to get through.

It's being made by Arkane, who did Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Arx Fatalis, with the addition of Harvey Smith, who was the lead designer of Deus Ex. If that sounds like a nice combination to you, you'll probably like it.

Let me explain; Dishonored has not been released and is not a sequel or prequel of any other game. It is an entirely new fiction. That said the producers have yet to release any kind of trailer. I know there was a playable demo at E3, but I haven't found any footage of it anywhere. In short, Bethesda has chosen to promote Dishonored in such a way that nobody knows what it will actually look like in motion and the only way to know anything about what it will actually be about is to track down and read descriptions online or in Gameinformer.

So this game is basically a game I hated with an end of the world game I only recently learned about with any spell game such as baldurs gate. So I'm not sure if I'd like it or not.

You're asking us to describe a game that has no officially released video footage, no release date, and just a handful of screenshots. Common sense might have told you that you probably wouldn't get a definitive answer for whether you should buy it or not right now.

after what they did with deus ex: human rev? its gonna have 3rd person assassinations and cover system, regen health, highlighting of everything interactive, objective markers (it was needed for newbies since everywhere looked the same with that gold theme) and so on. disgrace they did that to deus. although i must admit it was a great game, just only half the game that deus ex was. same goes for bioshock to system shock 2 though..... i sure hope dishonored is the game that we have all been waiting for.

I liked Human Revolution, despite all its problems. But I look at it as a great game that was kind of like Deus Ex rather than a great Deus Ex game. As a genuinely well-made 1st person action RPG it's a success, and that still makes it totally worth playing.

So I don't doubt that Thief 4 will be a very good game, but I'm almost positive it won't be a great Thief game. Open-endedness and rich simulation instead of fancy scripting are absolutely essential to that franchise, and the folks at Eidos Montreal don't seem to be interested in either of those things. I look forward to it anyway though, especially since The Dark Mod is doing a nice enough job as a proper Thief substitute.

that was also absolutely essential to deus ex.... along with the rest they ignored :(
i tell ya if i was on the development team i would have ended up getting fired. no way could i have sat by whilst they did that to dx. i would have demanded a near perfect deus ex game, but nobody would have understood.

A few comments have been deleted.

Keep in mind, referring to another member as a "troll" or "idiot" is considered flaming, which normally results in a warning and suspension from the forum.

Hopefully released during 2012, but the date has not been announced.

I would imagine we will see more content at E3.
