So what's gonna be your first character build?

Post » Mon Sep 23, 2013 5:43 pm

I'm sure this topic has been done already, but for the fact that I'm to lazy to search through all the topics I figured I'd start a new one.

So I'm gonna be creating the classic assassin, too much of a stealth fan to ignore the style of play that I'm most comfortable with. My main concern is how is my stealth skill going to relate to me sneaking up on some one to stab them in the back (not saying I want to just go around and kill other players). I just want to know how I'll be able to sneak up on other people, cause a maxed out skill makes you invisible to npc's, how would this relate?

Aaaanyways, the idea of being able to potentially sneak up to the current emperor and off him is just too good to pass up. Especially seeing that every time I played the game I joined the dark brotherhood (and assassinating the empoeror was my favorite quest of all time, cause face it, who doesn't have a problem with authority?)

A sorcerer Argonian who uses a sword and light shield, wears medium armor and uses alteration and illusion magic. Though since there aren't any magic schools I've have to wait and see if I have to play a templar for alteration-ish magic.

My first to see if i can get it to work will be a Nord sorc wearing heavy armor or med (ill master both but heavy first) with a sword and shield as the primary then dual weilding swords as the secondary, mastering dark magic and stormcalling. I always do hybrids in elder scrolls games and I am always a tank or support dps in mmo's. So really I'll be going through diff combinations til i figure out what I wanna do. My goal with this build is stamina dumps through weapons and magicka dumps through sorc abilities.

An Altmer Sorcerer who plays like a Spellsword. Heavy armor, and a destruction staff for ranged combat and a sword for melee. What i have in my other hand depends on what i can use. I would prefer a spell, but as magic works more like Daggerfall and Oblivion and staffs seem to be Two-handed again, I will probably have a shield, unless their is another non-dual-wielding choice.

Nord Warrior of some kind, It is how I started Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. I see no reason to break the trend.

At the begining my first character would be Nightblade, but I thought better, now I want to create a Dragonknight Nord female. In the first weapon, my action bar will be filled with offensive skills/spells, since my character will wear Heavy armor and 2H Sword (if the logic stays from Skyrim, sword will be more faster than axes and maces). It will contain something like a damge deal skill, in the second slot a CC spell, another for Range, snce I will use a bow for range, death grip skill or something that pulls the enemys in the forth slot, and finally a skill that snares the enemies. Then I will put a ultimate skill that will probably be a offensive burst skill. Then I will have the second weapon that will be a Resto Staff, when I switch to that weapon I will put only CCs and Heal spells on the action bar, if possible, even the ultimate skill will be a healing/CC spell. I m thinking about this, because of PvP. In dungeons when I don't need, I will be MDPS, when we will need then I will use a 1H Weapon and a shield for tanking. I'm doing this, since probably my brother will roll a templar Argonian (in dungeons he will be healer) and my sister a nightblade Dunmer (full MDPS).

Assassin type. Argonian. Focus on poisons (please please please give some nice poison maker/user options).

I wish to spend some good time sneaking around Cyrodiil looking for opportunities to get quick, nasty kills (extra satisfaction if they're High Elf). Solo mainly, unless I find individuals who play the same. All my real life friends are Dark Elf fans, so the alliance set ups is fortunate, but they show no interest in PVP.

I am very hopeful that footsteps will play a major part in detecting other players, and an enhanced senses ability would be pretty cool.

Probably DPS Altmer/Bosmer Templar at the moment. Depends on the racials and whether I can get over the fact that Bosmer are cannibals.

Would be good, but from what I've read about the megaservers, it might not even be possible.

Breton Nightblade

2H Sword

Mix of Medium and Heavy Armor

Focus on the Assassination skill line and 2H Sword.

Will dabble in Siphoning and Shadow for some utility (Strife seems super good for leveling).

sorcerer with medium armor, and i'd one-hand a sword. I would be a high elf so my battlemage hybrid will be good. Pretty much like the Queen, my character is pretty muched based off her in the trailer, she didn't have a staff and she had armor with a one handed sword. She would use her lighting magic from time to time as well.

My one question is, did she dual wield? Because on the scene when she was fighting it looked like she had a smaller blade in her other hand.

Don't think she did, pretty sure she was using her sword and magic and that is it. you will have to find something for your other hand anyway though. The dagger sounds like it could fit.

Im not sure if it restricts you from one-handing. I mean if i want to copy the queen exactly i could use one sword.

Look at this video, go to 20:37, there seems to be a guy with one-handing a sword in eso. (search on youtube "Elder Scrolls Online - Character Build Workshop" should be 1st video.)

Your right, you can. But using a single sword and nothing else in the other hand will gimp you because you have an empty slot that you can have extra stats with and people would not want someone in their group who is gimping himself like that.

mhmm, taste good. I actually agree with you though, i guess i wouldn't want to lower my strength, i just wish i could dual wield with magic in one hand like in skyrim or other TES games.

I guess i'd either dual wield a dagger or another sword, but if it lets me i would wield my hand magicka

one more thing, it wouldn't let me post links, why not?????

Maybe because you new? I think there is some forum thing that blocks links until a couple days or a number of posts or something.

Same here, I wanna know more about the stealth skill tree before I get to obsessed with any assassin build type. Plus I want to know how stealth is gonna play out in PvP

No stealth skill tree. There is a medium armor skill tree that has stealth benefits.

There's the nightblade class that no one really knows anything about. Taking out the skill tree for stealth would be terrible, like I would be speechless... I'm not saying im arguing with you, but I just cant believe they would take out such a class important skill tree

They have some stealth related skills, likely abilities that are used from stealth (attacks for all classes already get bonuses from stealth such as boosted damage stun), but I doubt anything that actually enhances stealth as that seems tied to medium armor.
