What happend to Atmora, and possibiolity for DLC

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:50 am

As you know Atmora was the original home of men. It is where the Nords came from and colonized Tamriel. So what ever happend to the continent? did it follow the same fate of Yakuda?. If it is still around I see the possibility of a pretty good DLC . A small land of all Nords stuck in their ancient ways and waring cllans just like they are stuck in the mythic Era.
If it has followed the same fate as Yakuda maybe the use of strong magics brought it back with its old inhabitants.
So what happen to it ?
and should it be in a DLC?

You put a "What is Atmora" option, then explained what it is in the post :/

Why would they be stuck in the mythic Era?

No, it shouldn't be DLC. It's a whole new continent. It's a long term sequel hook.

Easy? Maybe. Possible? Not so much. We know next to nothing about Atmora, squeezing it into a DLC would be a waste. If we ever see other continents, I want proper games for them, with lore, new races and stuff.

no, i really dont want to die freezing in a barran land withbut ice and bones to comfort me in my final moments. the reason nords left it is because it became uninhabitable (to them at least, which means all tamrielic races [in fact the only known race that could possibly survive there is the akavir kamal {"ice demons'}])

Yea,but it would be a total clone then with just diffrent locations and a diffrent story they should do DLC's in Morrowind or any other Parts of Tamriel ,Personally i would either want Valenwood or Summerset Isles as i have read both the historys and storys and Valenwood woukd be brilliant as the Wood Elves have trees as houses and alot of Vampire clansso i'm thinking Valenwood could be getting attacked by Vampires (Of course dragons course they could move across other parts of Tamriel to)
Summerset Isles
Preety much becasue it is a land shrouded in mysterey i didn't read much about this! soz!

Good idea, but a (small) part of Akavir would be great thank you. I just hope the expansion pack doesnt take place in a freaking daedric realm -.-

Hell yes! But, before the Atmora Expansion, they need at least one other major DLC, that other than what it is about, also adds new characters and random dialouge about sailors finally find the lost continent of Atmora. However, the people responsible are not taking just anyone, not even you, until the Expansion comes out, signalling that the explorers are encountering heavy resistance from the Atmorans and need adventurers to go over there and help out.

We haven't heard of Atmora or of anyone still living there in millenia. I believe the last immigrants arrived in Skyrim sometime in mid-late 1E, and they talked about it being a frigid landscape.

I've mentioned before and will do so again how I love the idea of an Atmoran expansion, perhaps as a privately funded archaelogical expedition to uncover man's paleolithic Atmoran legacy, or if not maybe as an attempt by the East Empire Company to discover new shipping routes to bypass Thalmor waters, culminating in the setting up of a Raven Rock style outpost. Hopefully a plotline not as grandiose and cliched as saving the world (I enjoy mundane quests!).

Enemies could include hordes of frost trolls, unmutated Falmer (yes, this makes no sense lore-wise but it could be interesting to retcon a Falmer offshoot into existence), snow wurms? Etc. Instead of Skyrim's mountainous landscape dotted with fertile valleys and forests, the setting could be arctic, in the style of icebergs and fjords.

Then again, a lot of people would probably like something radically different, like the Shivering Isles was from Oblivion. Personally though, I'd like to venture to Atmora.

Come to think of it . It would make a way better game than just a dlc. The Elder Scrolls VI: Atmora. You could be a prisoner sent to work in one of the colonies or be a prisoner forced to fight the inhabitants.

M'aiq pretty much said he's tired of snow, and since M'aiq is an in-game representation of the developer's opinions, Atmora is very unlikely.

Akavir sounds fantastic. Prefer it as a whole new series though since it's another continent.

Part of it would make a good DLC. However I would not want to see Akavir wasted on some small DLC.I want it to be a game.

Hm,a game that is about new races.nah,no.everybody would just miss the old races D: but i dont know. Also do you guys remember the rumors you could hear in oblivion when they said that Nerevarine was on a mission to akavir?

I should mention that Roscrea, an island between Skyrim and Atmora, would also make an excellent candidate for a DLC or expansion, and could be more feasible a setting than Atmora.

Before an entire new game on Akavir, I would expect (and hope!) to see games in any of the following: Hammerfell (don't tell me to play Daggerfall/Redguard), Summerset Isles/Alinor, Valenwood/Elsweyr, and Argonia. The Elder Scrolls is all about Tamriel, and although Akavir is fascinating, it's simply too far removed from what we know to still be TES.

For example, unless we played as an invasion force or something, we wouldn't even be able to play as man or mer - only as snakemen, monkeymen, and the other indigenous surviving races of that continent (pardon for not using the correct terminology).

Personally, I'd rather stay in Tamriel.

Snake men, Monkey men, and Tiger Men. That's what people want to play.

Akavir is more suited for a DLC.

Id like to see Akavir as one of the final Elder scrolls. possibly in a decade or two I want to see Another Arena where computers and consoles are powerful enough to run a game were all of Tamriel is featured. I would then want to play on Akavir with Tamriel invading it so we can play all the races.

unless they eventually do do an MMORPG (Which I would play) where all of Tamriel is available. It would beat wow and then beat it with its own arm
