What happened to Crytek?

Post » Fri Apr 16, 2010 10:46 am

Really, what's the urgency? It's ready when it's ready. It's not some two bit, 30 second animation they're putting together. This is quality stuff that i'm happy to wait for, so i ask, what's the urgency?

You haven't been waiting a month past it's due date, you have been waiting days... Quality takes time.

Without any word on why its not releasing as promised.
A simple "Its coming in a few days" would have been enough.

Now thats a statement, although those who expect to see new footage might be disappointed because of the upcomming Gamescom.

If they don't deliver in time, then really, who cares?

I want quality, so I prefer them to delay it and make sure it's quality. If you want your stuff on time, then enjoy having quantity which is horrible, than quality which is perfect.

Meh, knowing Crytek, that would be an empty statement, unless it's really detailed.

I remember that thread on the old gamesas about first person spectating, where everybody was biching about Crytek not responding so one of the programmers (Cry-Vlok?) came in, gave a proper, concise answer and left everybody happy.

As everyone knows, delivering quality stuff is impossible :P But if things like this happen frequently (gamesas Relaunch) then it might be time to think about how to improve the communication.

Quality is a very relative term... For one. For two, you haven't answered my question, really. Three, you had a deadline which was the end of last month which begs the question: Does it take more than a month to put together a quality video?

I'm just wondering, you know...

Oh, one more thing... Maybe this has been answered already, but I wasn't around then... Was it absolutely necessary to downright destroy the original gamesas community site? And while we're actually, you know, on the subject of "Quality", how long this this site take to make? No offense to the developers or anything, but, it's vastly lacking.

All said and done, it's still going to make zero difference to when the episode is completed and available to watch.

Whether Lee says it or whether a C2TV camera man says it, the outcome remains the same.

Whether a delay is announced a week prior or an hour before release, the outcome remains the same.

I'm sure the moment the CM's know when it's ready they'll be eager to announce it and get it online. Until then, patience is a virtue.

But it makes a big difference if youre waiting to enjoy the next episode in the evening and then be disappointed because it just isnt there.
Just like that.
Knowing about the delay before is better for everyone.
And casts a better light onto the developer.

If it's being developed by another group (e.g. 3rd party), then I guess there will be some sort of miscommunication made.

Of course, if you're waiting, why not try and do something else? I mean, I have work to do for college, I'm doing some of that, and playing some PC games. I have something that will keep me busy till C2TV Ep. 2 comes out. So don't any of you have other things to do?

We're obviously fans <.< And where would we be if everyone would pull out the "do sth else instead of relying on me". Plus it can be anything, although they should notice, that people here are getting upset and might want to react to it a bit faster next time.

What can Crytek say about the release delay for Crysis 2?
Will it be optimized for pc users?

Cry-Lee did say: You haven't been waiting a month past it's due date, you have been waiting days... "Quality takes time".

Firstoff, if you ask someone who's working on crytek he will obviously say yes, as it's in his interest <.< Despite of it's true or not. His job includes marketing and hype, so I doubt he'd say "NO CRYSIS SUXX!!!!11" Anyway, knowing Crytek's approach on the pc version of games, I'm very confident they'll pull it off. Although it's their first Multiplattform title, so consoles do have influence on the pc version.

But I will wait with faith and see how it turns out =)

PC version will be amazing, I'm quite sure, also you can't fix an xbox360 ;) must be a nightmare for crytek, so give them time... it'll be great when ready.

crytek is in deep trouble as evidenced by:
- crysis 2 tv episode 2 being over a month late
- crysis 2 now being officially delayed to 2011

so thats why this site isnt seeing any improvements and the community managers are afraid to show up.

Honestly I could care less about C2TV now that gamescom is coming up. Crytek failed big time when they delayed it and didn't bother to forewarn us.

people are getting to worked up over this. I thank crytek just for posting these videos in the first place. Thumbs up to you guys for doing this, but really people it will come when it will come why do you feel insulted when it comes a little late. You all act as if they owe it to you to make a crysis2 tv part 2 when you want it, chill out and realize they are trying to make one of the best video games ever possibly so cut them some slack

Everyone, let's all remain calm. I'm sure Crytek will make an official statement about the delay of the game and CTV 2 as soon as possible.

Let's just stay patient and calm. It's not the end of the world. (yet?)

These posts are getting ridiculous. C2TV is a privilege in the first place, not a right.
