what happened to these features?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:12 pm

first off i love the game, but i want to know what happened to features like "you throw a shield on the ground, if someone likes you they hand it back to you, they dont lke you that grab it and take off" or "you go into someones house, they like you they will let you stay if they dont they make you leave" ive not seen either of these things happen in game, in fact i dont think they CAN happen because there is not dispositions for npcs

It's happened to me. Once i dropped some spare armor i picked up and some dude walked up to me and asked if i didn't want it anymore, and if he could take it. I've heard of others having items returned, etc. I once had a dark brotherhood contract placed on me, that was pretty sweet...though the fact that i ran into the assassin just walking down the road was pretty amusing xD

I've been kicked out of people's houses before. And I read how some people on this forum have had stuff handed back to them that they tried to discard.

Just because you can't see a number saying how much they like you in the game, doesn't mean it's not there.

I had one put on me too. He surprised me in the wilderness in the middle of the night and got a sword through his neck for his trouble. They'd better send someone better next time if they want me killed!

I dropped a pair of boots next to the Blacksmith up the hill in Whiterun (Behind the Companions Building) and some dude popped up out of nowhere and asked me if he could have them.

There were a couple dialog options.

I told him no problem. I think it raised my reputation little actually.

It's in the game? Every time I drop something in a city, either a guard will tell me to pick it up, someone will ask if they can have it or someone will complain about me leaving my trash everywhere.

Is that part of a quest or just random? I've had two Dark Brotherhood assassins try to kill me, but I'm not sure why. I don't think I've pissed anyone off too bad...

It happens, just not all the time. There are a LOT of Radiant AI things going on. It's just that if people don't see them happening they assume they aren't.

I've stolen from an NPC that I had become friends with by doing a couple of quests. They caught me and accused me of stealing like normal, but then they sighed and grumbled that I could keep it since I helped them so much.

Trust us, this stuff IS happening.

What we have in Skyrim is essentially what we were promised in Oblivion, and should have had, but never got. Beth DID make it up to us. I saw a dragon stalk and elk, kill it and fly out of site over the mountains while other animals in the area bolted.

Well, last night I dropped a bow in Whiterun. The guy asking the smith to make swords for the legion picked it up and returned it to my character. "Hey, you dropped this. Don't you want it back?" The annoying thing was, I didn't. I dropped it on purpose. But I ended up with it again anyway. Farther on in town I dropped it again. This time I heard "Filthy barbarians; dropping their trash just anywhere.", but no one picked it up to give it back.

I haven't made it a habit of barging into people's homes, so I can't say anything about the "kick you out of their house" thing.

I thought about killing an NPC for looting a creature I killed. I was ticked that it looked like he looted a body. Not sure if he really did, but I really thought about offing him to find out. :)

Oh and I wish there was an NPC character around to find my skyforged sword for me. I was disarmed and could not find the weapon again. I searched for at least 45 minutes before giving up. :(

Both things have happened to me multiple times. And disposition is still there, but it is behind the scenes, so to speak.

Once had this random old lady inside this bandit fort I just cleared pick up 3 coridium ores I intentionally dropped. She pick up all 3 of them and went back to her corner. I went to speak to her and she gave all 3 ores back to me.

I've also had an assassin attack me once, after the Diplomatic Immunity quest which I went to town on the guards. Well, I'm not sure if that was the cause of it, because I've also hit a few bandit camps before then, too.

This. What happened to sabotaging the economy?

And as a side note, add more gold to vendors.

I've had both those things happen to me.

I dropped a sword outside and some lady said "Here I think you dropped this" and handed it back. Also I've gone into a house and had the occupant yell at me "Get out of here, right now or I'm calling the guard!".

They should have a note on them. If it has the name of the client on it, then you pissed someone off, if not then it is just a random encounter.

The one feature that I was looking forward to, that seems to be missing, is the snow falling and landing on terrain in real time. It seems they went back to the old Morrowind style where the snow/rain just surround your character. If you notice, it snows quite heavly under a pretty big bridge. Snow seems to come through the brick from out of no where... But alas, I digress.

Skyrim still kicks butt!

I dropped a garnet gem in the College of Winterhold

the Dark Elf apprentice gave it back. She told me to be more careful. She gave it back because she liked me, otherwise she would've taken it herself.

so it does happen.

I dropped a few weapons in the street one time because i was overloaded and didnt feel like walking. A guard that was walking by said i shouldn't leave weapons lying in the street because someone is liable to hurt themselves. I told him i wasn't going to pick it up, and he tried to squander me for 50 gold. I still declined, and he walked off saying he'd report me for disturbing the peace. My bounty went up 10gold shortly after.
