What Happens To Cyrodiil In Later Expansions?

Post » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:01 am

I love the idea of the 3 Alliances at war over Cyrodiil, and I'm happy with the overall look of the game, aside from the decision to make us play for 2 Alliances we may (and probably do) want no part in, just to explore the full map of Tamriel, but where is the game going in later expansions?

Are we supposed to be at war over Cyrodiil forever? Shouldn't this era eventually pass, and move on to a different focus? Because ESO is set around a 3-way war, I don't see how it could ever change, without that change being extremely drastic for the game and it's players.

I'd like to read some thoughts on what people think may happen.

I think the borders for Cyrodiil should change in each expansion. Let's say it's the AD's time to shine, and they've stolen a lot of land from cyrodiil, but at the same time EP loses some of their land. Maybe certain areas will be besieged and be full of ash, burnt land, and death, and will change every patch.

I'm almost certain Cyroodil will always stay a PvP zone, but there's always potential for realms of oblvion to offer new areas to duke it out.

well, Cyrodiil itself could change, fortresses could be razed and build up again at some other place, in order to create an entire different feeling of the war zone

I don't know how much of Cyrodiil is used, maybe it's possible to expand it in any direction, adding new siege objects and stuff

I'm pretty sure in the end it works out that you are all ruled by us mighty Redguards, everyone is prosperous, werewolves have equal rights, cliff racers are eliminated, the elves go off to the undying lands and everyone lives happy ever after :)

Also I become the first democratically elected Grand High Mead Watcher of all Tamriel.

Eventually, yes. But, according to the world timeline (that existed even before TESO was planned, though the current version I looked at has planted the factions wars into it now) it's about a 200-year span before that happens - likely well out of scope for the game.
