I've seen a lot of polls asking the same thing: Where do you want the next TES to take place? The answer is usually Summerset, but my hope is that we will no longer be limited to one province. Maybe Think about that for a second. What if you didn't have to roleplay your character's background entirely? What if your character actually was from Valenwood, or from Elsweyr? I understand that with The Elder Scrolls Online, this will be the case, but it's not quite the same as doing it in an Elder Scrolls single player game.
Adding multiple provinces would inevitably provide a much larger selection of monsters, weapons and armor, factions, architecture, and characters to meet. I think this would be a good thing, because everything in Skyrim is so close. Nothing takes a long time to get to. What if you wanted to craft a certain type of elven armor, but you are from Hammerfell? You would have to travel to find the proper ore or smithing technique required. Not everything should be right in front of you.
I actually like the idea of getting lost in the world, or traveling to a distant land. A particular quote comes to mind from Lotr: "You hear that? Rivendell! We're going to see the elves!" I'd like to have that kind of excitement. I'd like to travel to Skyrim to hunt werebears. I'd like to study magic with the Altmer and seek out the Psijic order. I want to take a trip to Lilac Bay. I'd like a good reason to purchase a horse in an Elder Scrolls game.
I'm asking a lot, but I am asking. I'm sure I'll still fall in love with TESVI nonetheless.
