What inns should be like

This is how it should be when you visit an inn. Not a generic no-talk no-drinking atmosphere.

Idon't how I'd feel hearing that 16 times it under a few days as I visited Inns I mean thats over 20 folks....and Skyrim doesn't even have over 10 people in an Inn at a time.

that said...it was awesome, thanks for sharing rofl

I'd settle for a tavern as crowded as in Witcher 1.

I would settle for people actually being in the taverns who weren't employees.

Seriously, it's like 2 employees and a customer half the time...

Least of my concerns. The inn in whiterun has a decent amount of people, with different npcs throughout the day. I never expected, or wanted, ES to have npcs like in Fable....completely generic, respawning townspeople running around. Obviously it would make more sense to have thousands of npcs in each city and maybe a hundred in each village, but that would take away from the feeling of 'I know this face....wow he was just killed by a dragon'

No essential NPC's, but randomly generated new ones with randomly picked names from lists of fitting names whom would be added a while after you've killed the other one, or they simply died off during an attack? They would share the same dialogue, but given the feel of immersion it would add, wouldn't it be a price worth paying?

At the same time, this piece of code could be used to add randomly generated NPC's to towns and cities, with added names! It would just have to run on the script that already randomly generate bandits and the likes of them. They would serve no other purpose than fill and meat for slaughter...

I sense a mod in the making!

Wooow, listening through this album I'm finding so much music that would fit Skyrim. Time to learn how to add custom music to the game.

the whiterun tavern is pretty lively when the sun goes down. that bard plays, a lot of people show up, someone asks for a beer, someone gets in a fight, someone gets angry and pulls out a dagger, someone ends up knocking a guy out but that guy is essential, the guards catch wind of illegal substances being used by someone, someone ends up in jail, that someone is usually me

Yeah.... the taverns are pretty lively when you're there at Happy Hour.

It's something Radiant AI does well.

And Generic NPCs are terrible, and don't really fit into Skyrim.

I would have waited another 4 months for more characters and bigger cities.

Just wait for the CK. There will be re-enactments from LOTR, The Witcher and probably naked Argonian lisbians doing tabletop dancing.

Er actually, no. On festival days you might get that once or twice every year.

It would be much more like in the Witcher 2 (or 1) with a small troup playing music if the Taverner could afford it and people milling about.

So a icon that says "TAVERN" with music playing in the background for 3 and half minutes?

The music is cool they ported Tolkiens lyrics well.

The more complicated you make the AI the harder it is to make them work with each others. Yes someday a scene like the one in Lords of the Ring tavern will happen but it is quite a ways off. If you look at Daggerfall who had large cities filled wth generic npcs who really had no difference to them compared to Skyrim who doesn't have as many but with more advance AI and scripting I think we are moving in the right direction.

Another thing to consider as well as these are hobbits singing. They are well known for singing and singing and singing. In fact, if all the singing done from the books was put into the film you`d probably get another 2 hours worth of singing...

That said stryder sings too (not in a Tavern), i`m glad they never put that in the film cos it makes him look like a girl.
