What kind of accent do the Dunmer have in Skyrim?

I feel like some of them have an Australian type accent.

It's sounds South London, or Liverpoolian to me.
Not quite Cockney. But in there.

Nah, those are Redguards who sound like Joe Blow.
So do Bosmer.
With Nords, it's either that thick Norwegian, or the voice of Jim Cummings...and every time I hear HIS voice, I imagine Pete from the Disney cartoons.

It is not so much a Cockney accent, as someone who thinks they are doing a Cockney accent, and failing.

They have the same accent Keanu Reeves had in Coppola's Dracula when he was struggling to sound British. I hate it.

I imagine Ed from "The Lion King". Or that floating cupcake from "Cabin Boy". Don't ask.

A stupid one. Especially that one Dunmer in Windhelm that sounds like a Breton. Hopefully the Solstheim Dunmer don't seem so... assimilated?

I think it was more to do with the voice actors they picked for the final take (see Arvel the Swift in the E3 demo versus the final game, and also look at all the Dunmer added by Dawnguard with one noticeable exception). They certainly have more quantity in Skyrim, but the quality is still not quite there.

it does have a certain aussie twang.

It sounds absolutely terrible though whatever it is. Why they ever even considered the Dunmer & Altmer voices for Skyrim in the first place is something I'll never be able to understand

Should make a poll so maybe Beth takes note of how much people miss Jeff Baker and the old Dunmer voice..

This. I sooo wish they brought back the raspy Dunmer voice from Morrowind.

The issue is that the Dunmer should have Nordic, Breton etc. accents, but still have the rough/raspy voices of the Dunmer.

I think Dunmer should makes songs like Tuvan throat singers. That'll be interesting :)

Somewhat off-topic, but Jack Mercer was inspired for his Popeye voice by Tuvan throat singers. Popeye the Sailor (Dun)mer, anyone?

Why? So they can show us gameplay of a Dunmer and change the voice afterward? That has happened twice already.

I was think something like the kid on the left would be hilarious to hear coming from a Dunmer (the ones from Morrowind days that is - the good 'ol days of Dunmer voices)

Shouldn't the Dunmer have a more darker achier tone in their voice? The Dunmer women are fine it is the Dunmer males that pisses me off. Why do Dumner men have voices of other races? They don't have a specific voice for male Dunmers? Same as the Bosmer. Aren't there suppose to be around 70 voice actors?

Most Dunmer voices are made by two actors (a male and a female voice). Some - both male and female - have other VAs. For variation I guess.
