What kind of candy can Mages expect in the future?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:35 am

Fact check first so you don't throw in pointless comments.
  • Not everyone plays on PC so that is why these questions are important, there exist no mods for X360 or PS3.
  • Sometimes you have people that really like what Bethesda creates compare to mods that may cause corrupted saves, crashes and unbalanced/overpowered gameplay.
Now..
What kind of candy can Mages expect in the future?
Meaning, what kind of new spells or features may you want added to Skyrim with a patch or dlc?

I have one very specific idea I like Bethesda to work into the game game, it's nothing big but I like the idea.
  • Ice spells will now effect the water, so if you cast a Ice (Destruction) spell on the water, it will turn into ice you may walk on. Good for avoiding slaugtherfish and getting wet. (Oh, I almost forgot, it's good for trapping bandits too).
That's my idea...

It's not quite the same. I want the water to freeze into ice with Ice spells and I don't think water walking will help me freeze bandits in the water, hehe.

Pretty damn sure they won't put spellmaking in now, so :
The rest of the bound weapons, more summons, poison damage spells for necromancers and the like, slow, haste, slowfall, waterwalking, drain melee damage, jump, cure disease, cure poison, expert level runes and cloaks, some kind of wind or whatever spell that disrupts archery, on touch destruction spells, darkness, dispel, higher level familiars such as spirit bears, silence. And then we need more robes, gloves, hoods and the like. That's just for starters.

Shock spells should also travel through water, resulting in massive damage. (Like in inFamous)

I have noticed that almost every one of the posts you have made seem to be in a thread that you created. Having said that, most of those threads are about subject matter that is already discussed in an another thread. There are threads discussing future content.

Besides starting off a thread by bashing mods, is asking for a backlash. The points you made are not entirely accurate. On the contrary, they fix more than they break. A lot of the crashing issues are from bad users not bad mods.

I said "Sometimes you have people that really like what Bethesda creates compare to mods that may cause corrupted saves, crashes and unbalanced/overpowered gameplay." - If you see that as bashing mods, then that is on you. Don't try to make it look like something else then it is, you can perfectly read it says "may cause" and I said "Sometimes there are people who feel this way", if you have a problem with how some people feel, then that is on you. Don't just make a reply\post to insult me, as you obviously did. I don't have any interest in posting in a 2 months old topic or in topics that focus on everything compare to me that mostly, 99% only care about magic. I don't think I have anything more to say to you. You did not contribute anything to the topic.

As a answer to your question I would love to get spellmaking back but as that probably wont happen maybe another element on destruction spells and more destrution spells themselves( as there is only like 5 for each element). Also if they sped up the activation time on master level spells( I know some people are fine with it but i just hate it :\).

I second this. Great stuff, that.

He could have handled it better, but I understand the frustration. When someone has a legit concern/complaint, they don't want to hear, "Mods." Most TES players can't use mods. It's like someone wishing there were a solution to the awful sorting and reading, "Kinect." That only helps a minority of players, while patches/dlc helps all TES players. Though, he could have just said, "I'm on console."

This might make a mage worth playing. Right now they seem so handicaped I just can't get into them.

Shapechanging.

Would be Alteration. So instead of summoning say, a Troll through Conjuration, you actually become a Troll for a temporary amount of time.

freeze people in water = ice cube shout (well almost) or deep freeze perk (again almost)

polymorph = wabbajack, sort of

open lock = midas magic mod

  • Freeze people in water because you turn the water into ice with Ice spells isn't almost the same as turning one into Ice Cube with a shout.
  • Wabbajack is a staff, not a spell you can cast with your hands. Also a big difference.
  • Midas Magic mod is not on Xbox 360 or PS3, alot of people playing on those consoles, yeah.

I have two more spells on my wishlist, Bound Dagger and a spell that would split the water like that guy with the staff does in the Bible. That would be neat.

I want more summonable Oblivion creatures; Clannfear, Daedroth, Xivilai and Spider Daedra. Maybe also http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SI-creature-Ravenous_Hunger.jpg, they were pretty creepy cretaures in Shivering Isles.

I'd like to see an anti gravity spell that sends enemies flying to the skies ... on purpose.

Might as well be a destroy lock destruction spell. Don't see why I can create a giant ball of fire to take out a powerful dragon but cant create a small concentrated explosion to take out a novice lock.
