What kind of character dou you think is the most "out of

Post » Sun Jul 29, 2012 10:22 pm

You know how in all the promo videos Bethesda's Dragonborn was a Preset 1 Nord in Iron/Studded armor? Yeah, that is quite fitting for an ancient Nordic Thu'm master.

However, what race and type of character do you think is the least likely to be recognized as Dragonborn? Personally, i think a female Argonian Mage would be so insanely unexpected. Walking up to High Hrothgar and the Greybeards would be like; "This is it? We were uh... kind of expecting a heavy armor, dual-wielding Orc or Nord..."

Don't get me wrong, i obviously have nothing against original characters; i just thought it would be funny. The most unexpected person, a female Argonian, mastering an ancient Nord power.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Welp, noticed a typo in the thread name. My bad.

Yeah, i'd say just about any race with vampirism would be a kick in the lore's nuts.

Not a player character, but it would be pretty funny if Nazeem turned out to be the dragonborn.

It's a TES game, therefore I can't really think of any character being too odd to be Dragonborn.
The only thing limiting any character from being Dragonborn is the player's lack of an imagination.

That would be most unfortunate his body's currently in the halls of the dead and his head is somewhere up in the cloud district I never did find out where it landed.

The way the story is written, any altmer.

Edit: I just added this to my to do list. Start an altmer, kill a couple of justicars on the road and wear their armor. :P

Altmer or a beast race. Especially if they were Vampires of some kind.

Spoiler
If it was an option I'd go with the Snow Elves (Falmer)

I don't know I don't really see a problem with any of the races being the Dragonborn since it's supposedly a gift from Akatosh. Although a Nord would fit more because of the whole atmosphere in Skyrim.

A Khajiit with vampiric armor but isn't a vampire, who's main method of combat is stealth but fights offensively with a conjuration spell sword style. :P

I would say any non-Nord race, especially one of the Elf races, that happens to be Listener of the Dark Brotherhood. :P

a vampire khajiit who only drinks the blood of nordic children, wears the thalmor robes, uses an imperial sword, is married to an argonian, and has adopted a 12 year old half altmer and half dunmer child
Nords hate khajiit, argonians, and elves
Nords hate khajiit so much they arent even allowed inside the walls of their cities
Nords hate the thalmor and the imperials for siding with the thalmor
Nords hate vampires
Nords hate things that target their children

An Altmer pure mage who wears the Thalmor robes and uses mainly destruction magic. There really isn't anyone the current Nords in Skyrim hate more.

I did, but yours requires some things that aren't possible in the game. I was making a simpler one that's a possibility when playing. :P

The dragonborn is whoever Akatosh chooses, so it's not that unexpected races (or even vampires) can't be dragonborn. It's just that the most famous of dragonborn, Tiber Septim, was a nord, and ever since then most dragonborn were within the humanic Septim lineage, with no elven or animal races.

It's not about lore
It's about what would be the most brutal kick in the balls to the nords of skyrim (mainly the stormcloak ideal)
