As I recall there was mention of mounts being included in TESO in the early video interviews. Some time afterwards I believe they spoke briefly about horses.

However, this has me wondering what other mounts we might see. After all, having only horses would feel rather limited and different regions/provinces had different means for personal transportation. Also, in Morrowind horses wouldn't last very long as the Dunmer use them for food instead of riding.

This made me check through the bestiary and lore on which types of possible mounts we could have; and more importantly regional mounts depending on the province. After all, a diverse world is a rich world; right?

* Horse (lots of variety possible: Bay, Chestnut, Paint, Black, White and maybe those heavy Draft horses for the Nords)
* Guar (I mean what Dunmer wouldn't want a Guar to ride on?!)
* Slarjei (I believe it is a form of Lizard-bird used in the deserts of Elsweyr as horses don't do well there)

Next to that we have a list of creatures that could potentially be used as mounts:

* Senche
* Senche-Raht
* Durzog (and the sturdier War Durzog)
* Sabre Cat (Regular, Snowy, Vale)
* Kagouti (not too sure if these are feasible)
* Alit (not sure about this one either)
