What really happened to the Dwemer?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 10:18 am

"Kagrenac turned his tools upon the 'Heart', and Nerevar said he saw Kagnrenac and all of his Dwemer companions at once disappear from the world."

Book: Battle of Red Mountain

So where did the Dwemer go?

What did the Author mean by "turned his tools upon the heart"?

Latter in the book, the 'Daedra Lord Azura' cursed the Chimer, and that is how the Dunmer were born, but Azura assured there would be retribution, that her champion Nerevar, "would come to punish them for their perfidy."

Is this Champion in Skyrim?

If anyone has found more books into this, that has more incite as to where the Dwemer went, what they are doing, etc, i would greatly appreciate the information.

I asked this question myself... Apparently they were punished for playing gods. I don't remember exactly, but I think there were three tools that their wizard built to mess with the "heart" of god. As soon as he did that, they were all punished and wiped from the Earth.
Correct me if I'm wrong though.

The mystery of the Dwemer was part of the storyline of Morrowind, whose hero was the Nerevarine.

no one knows for sure....

maybe they got destroyed, maybe they have turned into a divine, maybe they returned to the time when "God" was just about to create existence, maybe they got teleported in time 10K to the future or the past ...etc maybe they are still trapped in the skin of the god they were trying to make and are now still buried in unimaginable nightmarish agony under red mountain for all time.

that's why they are so fascinating I guess, cause no one knows 100% what really happened to them

"afterall there is still one Dwemer left."

Who is the only one left, after reading the book a couple times, i only came across Vivec as being the last one? Or am i mistaken? I am a bit confused as to who it is.

Probably a dopey question but, if the Dwemer didn't worship gods (other than than, as Vivec said, "their gods of Reason and Logic") , why are there Dwemer temples?

I interpreted this remark by Vivec as meaning the Dwemer were more or less atheists and worshipped no gods however, maybe I was wrong in this regard.

This has been answered by the guy who designed the Dwemer in the first place.

They were absorbed into the Numdium as its skin, when Kagrenac used the tools on Lorkans heart.

The dwemer were smart bastards, they realized that there were gods, just that those gods were just higher up beings that sacrificed themselves to make the world. they sought to take their whole race up a gradient in the cosmic scale :from many to one

I really svck at explaining tes lore, if you really care just search for dwemer in the lore forum, there is like fourty topics for it

the only dwemer left was the one that was sick in a wizard's dungeon/hospital, forgot his name....

vivec was a dark elf that used the heart of the god to transform himself and his friends into the holy trinity of MW.

Yeah the last survivng Dwemer is that large guy who has mechanical spider legs. He is in Tel Fyr in the Corpusarium because he has Corprus disease. He didn't vapourise with everyone else because he was in Oblivion at the time, something like that :b

From what I remember he activates Wraithguard for you, whilst Vivec can activate the other.

Anyway, in Mournhold under the statue, the dwarves all left ash piles so it seems like they died, but that would svck lol I think they'd probably be revealed in the last elder scrolls game if it came to that, maybe the last game could be all about them, how they disappeared and where they are now.

So far Bethesda cannot recreate the mystery of the Dwemer. Alyeids were boring generic elves. Falmer are also boring degenerate elves.
