What Roles Will Each Race Best Represent?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 5:54 am

Tank, Healer, Mage, Theif, Assassin, Warrior, Cleric...If this game will be successful they will most likely allow us to create strong class builds. What races do you think will fit into what role?

For example, I think the Bretons would make perfect defence/healers/clerics because of their racial abilities in previous games, but at the same time they are renouned conjurers and alchemists.

The Elder Scrolls series has always allowed us to create are own characters, so what crazy combinations will we be allowed to come up with?

Judging by their wonderful racial alliance choices in the three factions, I'm guessing the Orcs will be the healers.

I just heard about this. What are the racial alliances?
Nords, Dunmer, Argonians.
Khajiit, Bosmer, Altmer.
Redguards, Bretons, Orsimer.

The Nords and Dunmer I could understand given the Nords' whole honor thing. But Dunmer and Argonians, and anyone with Orcs, just makes no friggin sense. The Redguards and Bretons are a problem too, since the Redguards hate magic and Bretons are humans that have interbred with elves for so long that they're more magically tuned.

Plus, I'll be sad if I have to be part of the Aldmeri Dominion if I play as a Khajiit. I hate forced alliances like that, and goes against TES's 'be who you want' philosophy. It'd be nice if we could defect.

^lolwut? Interesting setup. I was expecting the mer- altmer, dunmer, bosmer. then the beasts- argonian, kajiit, orismer (yes I know, orcs are mer). then the humans- Breton, Redguard, Nord, Imperial.

Interesting how I always thought the altmer, bretons, orismer, and redguards are the alltime best races in the series. I guess I know what alliance I'm joining .

What does each alliance stand for I wonder? What flag do they hold? (Sorry, I'm off my own topic)

Also the Nords and Dunmer...what? The Nords hate elves, and dunmer hate all outsiders, especially Nords who are racist right back. The Nords are the only ones who stood up for themselves from the discriminating dunmer in Morrowind it seems.

The Dunmer hate the Altmer (and, well, pretty much everyone really, but especially the Altmer), and the Altmer hate them right back. The Dunmer were originally a sect of Altmer (Aldmer?) who split off from severe philosophical differences, and became the Chimer. Then the whole Red Mountain/Dwemer thing where the Tribunal were born and betrayed Nerevar, where Azura cursed them to be Dunmer.

The Nords hate the Bretons, because Nords don't like elves and distrust magic and Bretons interbred with elves for so long they're more magically-natured.

The Nords, at least, have the whole honor thing and aren't that dikeish when push comes to shove and someone needs help. The Redguards, though, are quite prideful, and the Argonians are very isolationist (with a severe hatred for the Dunmer, particularly since they cut down a Hist tree).

You've forgotten that the Dunmer enslave Argonians and treat them as beasts, but now they're allied?

The Redguard also first came to the continent after theirs basically sunk (lulz), and had to force their way onto the continent. They ended up attacking the Orcs and winning. The orcs relocated to high rock and have since struggled making their own nation amongst the Breton populace. So yeah...wtf?

And iirc the Bosmer and the Khajiit also duked it out for a while there...
