What should I do with my Orc?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:14 am

Ok, I made an Orc yesterday. His name is Genghis Demon Eater, he's pretty damn cool I have to say. I've shot up to level 6 already and I'm really enjoying the barbarian gameplay. I have a question about build and perks and what not.

I'm trying to focus on Smithing, Heavy Armour, One handed and maybe Block. Would you focus on dual wielding war axes, or go for a shield with one war axe?

I like the idea of dealing max damage, slaying all in my path, but I also like the perks on the block tree.

Has anyone played an Orc? What worked for you?

The racial power works great with dual wielding but I find using a shield being a more rewarding/tactical playstyle. Dualwielding doesn't allow you to block at all, all you can do is dodge, not needed with heavy armor and just wack out damage. My most fun playthrough was my sword and board warrior :)

I got an RP orc raider that just lives/trades in the strongholds and raids all the other cities for loot and what not. Working him in all trade skills especially smithing with light armour, 2H and dual-wield. Seeing as he cant take on a city by himself he either sneaks in and steals stuff or fights his way in with some followers and grabs what he can. As for perks the orc racial ability goes best with dual-wielding but anything else depends on your style.

I also have a level 42 Assassin Redguard and he dual wields daggers. I got board of literally one shotting everyone, with the +15 sneak damage bonus.

I am having a lot more with the Orc, being able to just be a major bad ass basically. I do enjoy the tactical side of the shield. Being able to bash your enemy. I like the look of the running shield bash, I can imagine that with an Orc would be quite a sight!

My Barbarian Orc wields 2h weapons, wears light armor (forsworn) and is generally a badass dude.
My Imperial Orc specializes in dual wield and heavy armor. Also a badass dude.

I always thought the dual wield axes on Orc's looked beastly, and you can usually plow through most opponents before they can deal out much damage. But, a high blocking skill with a shield can be very useful when fighting enemies that deliver lots of damage.

Don't forget that Orcs have the berserk ability, making dual wielding much more fun in big fights.

My Orc is the Harbringer! He uses a two hand warhammer to smack things up close and a bow combined with sneak too take down far targets. He is adpet at using the natural world to fortify and heal himself while generously using poison on others. He has smithing up to Orcish armor the only other perk he is going to take is arcane smithing, cause Orcs are the best so the only armor he needs. He has messed with enchanting but he really doesn't understand it and is superstious regarding communing with souls of the dead.
Mostly he is just a bounty hunter.

I don't want to use a bow and I'm going limit myself to no sneak, EVER! My Orc shall conquer empires and bring nations to their knees, begging for cheese.

I'm RP;ing him as a total psychopath. I literally got out of Helgen, went to Riverwood and murdered half the town.

Genghis Khan is my influence. I want to feel all mighty. I never had that with my Redguard.
