I am from Hawaii so to just about everyone on the internet my locally spoken language is so very different it may seem almost another language. But no, tis just a Creole lol.

We use brah, haole, local kine, da kine, all da time, howzit, how you brah, braddah cuz, shee shee nai nai, hema da panties, stuff like that. Good luck understanding us. We are not stupid as so many people over the internet seem to think with hordes of mainlanders screaming "Lurn to speaks english durrr!!" We do, it is just under a different grammatical structure and mixed with many words from about 10-20 different languages. Mostly english.

However I can speak both standard English and Hawaiian Creole english fluently so no big deal

The more you know....

I tend to mimic the accent of the area I'm in.

I do it completely involuntary, just without me noticing I'll switch from my normal mixture of Midwest and southern to an Urban accent or a northern accent when I'm around a lot of folks that use that accent.

It annoys me when I do it sometimes.

"Eh"

Do I know what it means?

"Nope"

Just a Canadian thing.
"Eh" is also a New Zealand thing, eh? It's great, eh? You just add it to the end of any sentence and it turns it into a question, eh?

I use a lot of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwqfR8g-Qow, not Maori myself, but it just sounds choice, eh?

I usually try to speak in complete and proper sentences in public, never using contractions. I find it difficult not to use the word that immediately marks me out a Californian though... HELLA.

I say "g?lar" instead of [swedish swear] and, as far as I know, I'm the only one who do it.

"Fanta dig!" :P

Yeah I use some swedish slang as well I guess, mostly local though. "Bamba" for the school cafeteria and "Kubba" is running (normaly "springa").

Hella/Hecka - "hell/heck of a lot" (product of my NorCal upbringing - it was in use long before the Hip Hop/Rap crowd latched onto it).
Like - I try to avoid this, but it still slips into conversations as filler or a replacement for "about" or "around".
Ghetto - anything low class or something jury rigged.

Can't really thing of too many others off the top of my head. I probably use them - they are just so ingrained as to be normal speech.

I use a mish-mash of slang, mostly a lot of Brit slang (that throws most locals off), as well as some popular slang (from movies, tv, music, et cetera), some local slang, and occasionally I even use Latin phrases (id est, et cetera, y'know, I'm not fluent in Latin though) or words from other European languages (Spanish, French, German) which really confuse people, I'm just glad that they buy what I tell them I'm saying. :P

I have never used "Sick" or "Wicked" to mean something good or cool unless I'm mocking the caricature of those who might.

I say "Sweet" but the impression that word gives is far from the impression that "Sick" gives.

Those who say "sick" or "wicked" to mean something to be commended are "kewl".
If you ever see me use the spelling "kewl"....know that it's in a mocking way.
You may as well type out an entire paragraph using 1337 speak. :meh:

Nobody says Blimey in England, really they don't. Maybe in Australia, I don't know. We don't ride horse and cart either.

I am English :P. I just have an old fashioned persona.

I respond to quite a few things with a simple "Word".

I'm not proud of it, but it just...fits, in more situations than you would think.

That film looks awesome!

Has anyone seen the aussie TV series "Summer heights high"? It's hilarious and there's an islander character who uses some great slang. I won't put a link because there's a lot of swearing.

No, but I've seen the film set in NZ called "Once We Were Warriors"...I thought that was excellent.
