What sort of collision system do you want?

What are everyone's thoughts on the current collision system (or lack thereof) in the game?

Wish it had one. I can see why it'd be a pain in towns or in certain instances in pvp though. But there are always work arounds.

I think there needs to be one for pve at the very least.

Yeah, I agree. Considering the game doesn't use tab targeting, I imagine it would be fairly difficult to hit enemies sometimes, especially whilst in first person mode. A full collision system could lead to considerable griefing from other players, but I don't see an issue with having it for monsters only or during PVP.

I just hate the idea of charging towards someone/thing in first person with a weapon in my hand, only to accidentally run past them and have to back track or something.

ive said it before and ill say it again.

I like collision but thing is when you need to speak with an NPC to hand in a quest or something and people are blocking your access to the NPC then its very frustrating. I cant even speak to the NPC for travel. but I do hate it when people run right thru me cause breaks immersion.

If we had collision in pvp I know what my guild would do. We'd capture or eliminate any resources related to how close the wayshrine is to where we are holding (if that was a thing). Then we'd have strict orders to let them take a gate in the front if they attack and bolster our enemies behind that was or at the entrance of the keep. And then we'd zerg the every living crap out of anyone trying to breech that bottleneck. Why collision matters in this regard is that collision plus slows and snares would ensure just a straight up stop in the advance of our enemies. And anything that dies there will be an obstacle, our side included. It'd be AV capped graveyard on crack. And it'd work too.

I wouldn't qualify that as griefing, just stratagem. We're using a mechanic in the game's design to the fullest advantage.

I think we can live without it, its not like collision is realistic in any way. To make it realistic you would need to add mass, momentum, density... its just not possible to achieve realistic physical model in games yet. So I suppose I can do without the luxury of bumping into things

I think having that in place would be uber realistic though, in a good way. The opposing side would just have to figure out a way around that. I mean that's how it works in real life, if you want to get throw a guarded gate, you have to do it over dead bodies. For example you could just fire catapults at the crowd of people standing in your way or just hit them from afar with arrows and such.

True, I'm suggesting we only have it with monsters in PVE and I think it would be nice to have in PVP as well, though I can see some issues with that.

I like to walk down the streets in town and see people acting with respect and move aside if some one is walking by. showing respect to others. but I spose this is hoping for too much.
