I know you can't officially join the guild, but I'm going to create a new character and dress as a Vigil and battle the undead everywhere. Can you help me with what race I should be to become a Vigil? And don't say High Elf, since it is widely known that they have made pacts with the Daedra before, even though they are the best mages.

Imperial, Nord, Redguard, and Dunmer.

They are Paladin's in theory, so Imperial would be ideal as they have the stats to suit, if your care about that.

I'd say either an Imperial or a Nord.

Virtue and belief are not connected with Race.
Not all members of a race behave as one would think. That is stereotype and racism.

Just choose what race you'd like for it, being a specific race doesn't limit you to what your character could believe in.
A lot of the Vigilants of Stendarr are Dunmer, and they originally worshipped Daedra (Azura, Mephala, and Boethia)
