Um ok, what the heck Microsoft. 8.1 ruined life

Post » Mon Oct 21, 2013 12:45 am

Ok, so I updated to 8.1.

My catalyst control center for my AMD drivers has BEEN ERASED AND WON'T OPEN. Awesome. What the frack.

I click "Catalyst Control Center" and this message pops up:

Catalyst control center cannot be launched. There are no settings that can be altered through Catalyst Control Center."

What the hell? On top of that, my gameplay is choppy during times it was never choppy before, which is why I opened up the CCC in the first place, and then this happens.

I'm waiting for W9. I've heard many bad things coming out of W8. Some even go as far as saying that it is worst than Vista. I'm happy with W7 right now.

Sadly, I need Windows 8 for Battlefield 4. Has this been happening to anyone else? I don't have Windows 8 yet, so I hope this doesn't happen to me when I get it.

8 is in no way shape or form worse than vista, that's just stereohate by the masses who don't like change. The only problem I have with 8.1 is it BROKE something, which 8 didn't do.

Well, Solution #1 would probably be to just reinstall your drivers.

 Almost as funny as the OP. Everything, ALTHOUGH it was a large step in the right direction (Windows 7), while Windows 8 is in the step of the wrong direction (tablets!).

My experience with Vista is that it's choppy and shutting down takes hours. I heard that SP has improved it to make it bearable enough, but I won't know, I installed Linux over it.

Never had that problem with it.

TBH though, I wasn't happy with Vista at the time, and the minute I found out Win7 had been released, I couldn't boot Vista to the curb fast enough. In retrospect, it really wasn't all that bad, perhaps it might've been pushed out the door too soon, but a fully patched Vista isn't a horrible OS...it's certainly no XP, but it's no Windows 8 either. (and no, I'll never subject myself to that piece of trash)
