"What" is the Nanosuit.

It seems every single thread I have read on here is nothing more then complaining about MP issues that are present at the start of every game. So here is something new.

Nanosuit 2. I have been following the story, but I still do not understand it. Many times i've heard it was "symbiotic". What does that mean exactly, what does it do to the wearer? Don't give me the definition of Symbiosis, I just want to know what it means in this context. And also, is it capable of learning and thinking, like the Terminator? Because in a few cutscenes, the Nanosuit voice was saying things like "Get your ass back in the fight, Marine!" That is not something a strictly robotic, programmed voice says.

Anyway, explain it to me.

Well to start it off the nanosuit uses posthuman parts (which changes a humans general features to make them "superhuman"). As they show you in the cutscene in the level "Dead Man Walking" Alcatraz had a major damage to is inner body. The nanosuit was also growing into these damage wounds and keeping him alive, so aslong as he was wearing the suit he'd stay alive and be dubbed a "Dead Man Walking". I'm not 100% on this last point but I believe the voice you hear is actually a little bit of Prophet's consciousness left with in the lower levels of the suit.

The voice could be prophet's because his DNA was stored in the suit due to symbiosis. In the final chapter, Alcatraz died and prophet's DNA seem to have taken over his body giving him a reborn.

From what I remember from the Nanosuit 2 ad thing-a-jiger from back at E3 or so, the wearer of the suit will never tire as long as he's wearing the suit. And remember, Symbiosis does include protection, as one of the things involved in the Deal.

answer: dictionary says "the living together of two dissimilar organisms, as in mutualism, commensalism, amensalism, or parasitism." What this means is that it *joins* with the user. Think of it as the ring from LOTR or Venom in Spiderman. What it does here is assimilate the person so they merge together, needing each other.

Don't give me the definition of Symbiosis, I just want to know what it means in this context.
answer: if you already know the definition of symbiosis, then you wouldnt be asking in the first place. it's pretty straight forward.

And also, is it capable of learning and thinking, like the Terminator? Because in a few cutscenes, the Nanosuit voice was saying things like "Get your ass back in the fight, Marine!" That is not something a strictly robotic, programmed voice says.
answer: that's Prophet. His consciousness merged with the suit. While his physical body died, his mind is still in the suit. This is like how Spok got his mind melded into Bones' mind in the Star Trek movies.
